7 Questions on Social Media With Nick Steeves
1. How did you get your start in the industry?
I started as a marketing intern at Wishpond, eventually rising to my current position through a combination of learning quickly and a dedicated work ethic.
2. What is the biggest challenge facing your industry?
For SaaS companies like Wishpond, our biggest challenge is making products that make it as easy as possible for our customers, small businesses, to be successful.
3. What is the method to your blogging success? What inspires your blogs?
Our blogging method consists of writing articles that make it easy for readers to learn new marketing tactics step-by-step, so that by the end of the article they can put them into action.
4. What do you think is the future of social media?
I think that advertising is going to become as ingrained in social media as it is in search. As new ad products make it easy to drive highly-targeted (and easy-to-convert) leads, more and more businesses will integrate them into their online marketing strategy.
5. What advice would you give to someone who is just starting out?
For anyone starting out in marketing, I would recommend taking an internship at a small company. Large companies tend to hire many interns and don’t give you much hands-on experience, whereas small companies will generally have a shortage of human resources, which will give you opportunities to do a lot of cool jobs.
6. Where can we find you on the web/on Twitter/Facebook/etc.?
7. What do you think is the most important takeaway from your session?
For a small businesses, driving sales from Facebook is easy and cost-effective.
