Adam Wexler is with us today for the Business 2 Community Expert Interview series, and we’re excited to have him here to talk social media! Adam is the Founder and Chief Strategy Officer of Insightpool, the leading social marketing software that help brands develop stronger relationships with their key influencers, prospects and customers.

1. How did you get your start in the industry?

I’ve been keeping close tabs on the social media evolution dating back to my teenage years on artist message boards. Always loved the ability to connect with others that shared similar interests. With my prior startup, we had a non-existent marketing budget so I naturally gravitated towards social media to help the word spread. Figured I’d play to my strengths and build a social media business with Insightpool

2. What is the biggest challenge facing your industry?

The social media landscape changes all the time.

3. What is the method to your blogging success? What inspires your blogs?

Having a strong opinion and trying to have good intuition for future trends

4. What do you think is the future of social media?

Leveraging Big Data, brands will start to *proactively* engage with their customers before they even say a word.

5. What advice would you give to someone who is just starting out?

While you’re using social media for personal purposes, start thinking about the applications in business contexts (e.g. what do people respond to?)

7. What do you think is the most important takeaway from your session?

If you want to impact KPIs like increasing brand loyalty or drive your bottom line, you must take proactive measures to engage highly targeted individuals in highly personalized fashions.
