Monday night, “The Voice” was a two-hour episode which means each singer had to sing two songs in order to fill the whole episode. It is down to the final six and the competition is heating up. Since Cee Lo’s last singer was eliminated last week, he is out of the running for the remainder of this season. The other three coaches picked songs for each singer and were there to give their remaining singers on their teams advice.
First was Cole Vosbury from Team Blake singing “Rich Girl.” He performed this song with an electric guitar and he did a great job at singing effortlessly while also playing the instrument. He then sang “Better Man” and dedicated it to his first love. He did a good job and brought a lot of emotion into the song.
Team Adam’s Tessanne Chin was asked by Adam to sing a completely acoustic version of “Redemption Song.” She brought a lot of emotional vulnerability. She then sang “Unconditionally” by Katy Perry.
Matthew Schuler from Team Christina sang “The Story of My Life” in dedication to his family. The beginning of the song didn’t have a lot of energy, but it eventually picked up. Then he sang “When A Man Loves a Woman” which showed his blues and soul side.
Team Adam was up again with Will Champlin who sang “Change Is Gonna Come” to his wife and daughter. He sang the introduction while also playing the piano and then switched to singing into the microphone. He then sang “Hey Brother” while playing the banjo.
James Wolpert, also from Adam’s Team, sang “I Fell in Love With a Girl” and brought a country twist to the song. He then sang “I’d Do Anything for Love” For someone who was sick, he did a great job with both songs.
The final performer was Jacquie Lee from Team Aguilera. She sang “Cry Baby” and “left it all out on the stage” as her coach said after her performance. She then sang “The Voice Within” and dedicated it to Christina.
