There has been a lot of rumors lately that we would be seeing the first trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens within the next 4-5 weeks. Now, according to Star Wars 7 News, the trailer will be attached to The Hobbit: The Battle of Five Armies.

Apparently they got information from a movie theater owner who was told the trailer would be attached to The Hobbit. Then, a second source who talked to the films first assistant director, Thomas Gormley, tweeted the following: “Had a talk from Thomas Gormley today, when asked about the teaser trailer for Star Wars VII he said, ‘You might wanna go see The Hobbit’ :)”

The tweet, and the account, were deleted a few minutes later.

Now, an update from /Film, sheds some more light on the situation. According to their source, the trailer may very well be attached to The Hobbit, but that will not be the trailer’s debut. Disney apparently has” bigger plans” than a simple attached trailer. Considering The Hobbit has a December 13 release date, this means we will get to see the first Star Wars trailer pretty soon!

There was a description of the trailer leaked on the internet recently:

It’s going to have The Force Theme played on woodwinds, softly, over flashing images of the main leads, each fading to black. There’s no dialogue, just reveals of the characters. And then the music swells up into a full orchestral piece – perhaps what John Williams recorded this weekend? – and we hear a female voice, likely Daisy Ridley’s, saying “Wake up.”

And then the title card appears – Star Wars: The Force Awakens – and we see the Millennium Falcon, firing blasters, coming right at the camera.

Several rumors have been pouring out recently surround the new Star Wars franchise, such as the recent Mace Windu spin off. Let’s hope there i some truth to the trailer release.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens currently has a December 18, 2015 release date.
