Husband and wife, Jake and Michelle Sendowski, have developed a better way to store leftovers. Their patented product, Souper Cubes, makes freezing and thawing the perfect portions of food a breeze. Their silicone trays come in four easy-to-use sizes. Simply fill to the full line, snap-on lids, and store in the freezer. The sturdy steel rim allows for easy transport without fear of the silicone shifting and food falling all over the floor. When you are ready to reheat and enjoy, simply pop the contents out of the Souper Cube tray and reheat.

Generating over $1.6 million in sales in 2020, the Sharks are very impressed by their sales, margins, as well as the quality and concept of the product. Although Souper Cubes is having tremendous success through word-of-mouth marketing, they are looking for a Shark that can help them to improve their marketing and to make important decisions about their business. They often struggle to make decisions and that indecision can be very detrimental for a business. Seeking $400,000 in exchange for 5% equity, Jake and Michelle are hoping to land a Shark that can help them navigate growth opportunities and appropriately scale their business.

Currently, Souper Cubes are mostly selling through online marketplaces, with Amazon accounting for 78% of their sales. Because only 8% of their business is direct-to-consumer, some of the Sharks believe that they need to increase their direct sales. The Sharks love the product and their margins, therefore they quickly begin making partnership offers. Both Kevin O’Leary and Barbara Corcoran extend several offers to the Sendowskis, allowing them to structure their own deals. Lori Greiner then presented Souper Cubes with her golden ticket of season 12. That means that she will offer exactly what they have asked because she is passionate about the product. They quickly agree to Lori’s offer of $400,000 for 5% equity in Souper Cubes, citing that Lori was their ideal Shark partner.

If you were the Sharks would you have invested in Souper Cubes? Do you think that Jake and Michelle made a good choice by choosing to partner with Lori Greiner? Start the conversation in the comments below!
