Sean Penn is planning on adopting Charlize Theron’s son Jackson. The 54-year-old has reportedly already filed papers to become the 3-year-old’s father. Penn and Theron, 39, are rumored to be engaged after dating for over a year so this is an important step. Penn proposed to Theron while the couple were in Paris last November. However they have kept their privacy and have not announced anything official.
A source tells People. “Charlize and Sean are very serious. Charlize says this is it. Jackson already calls Sean daddy. This is the first step toward them getting married.”
The “Snow White and the Huntsman” star adopted Jackson in early 2012, when he was 4 months old. Penn has a daughter, Dylan, 23, and son, Hopper, 21, from his marriage to Robin Wright.
Penn not only is adopting Charlize Theron’s son, but he wants more kids with the actress.
According to US Weekly an insider said, “There is still talk of adopting again and giving Jackson a brother or a sister. Sean always knew that to truly earn a place in Charlize’s heart, connecting with Jackson was one of the most important parts.”
Sources say the couple are a great match.
“[Charlize] likes guys with more substance. She finds Sean very charming and he makes her laugh. She definitely has him wrapped around her finger.”
Recently the pair joined forces to help raise $6 million for Penn’s charity J/P Haitian Relief Organization. At the event he was asked by Extra if he was planning on marrying Theron.
“I can’t even say things out loud,” Sean replied.
The “Milk” star, who was also married to Madonna, added, “‘I just hate looking at people on television talking about their relationships.”
Sean Penn filing papers and adopting Charlize Theron’s son is great news. Good luck to the family!
