The new trailer for Batman: Arkham Knight has been released, showcasing new features for one of the most successful new video game franchises.
Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment have released the trailer with some in-depth gameplay footage and a look at the villain Arkham Knight. In the new game, Batman must work his way into ACE chemicals, where Scarecrow’s men are waiting. Two new features shown off in the trailer are a patented “fear takedown” for The Dark Knight, as well as a playable Batmobile, which hasn’t been in any of the previous games.
Here is the trailer:
The new Batmobile play looks to add an exciting new element to the game series, as the previous entries were focused primarily on Batman on foot. Other than the Batmobile, the gameplay looks similar to previous entires, which is a good thing.
Batman: Arkham Knight will be the fourth and final entry into the video-game franchise, following Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. Arkham Origins, a prequel to the franchise, was the last to be released. Kevin Conroy will once again voice The Dark Knight. Rocksteady, who produces the game along with Warner Bros. and DC, talked about adding the villain Oracle to the game, saying she is “such a strong character,” and they wanted to “bring her to life in this game rather than have her as just [a] voice.”
Batman faces off with the super-villains Scarecrow,Penguin (Nolan North), Two-Face (Troy Baker), Harley Quinn (Tara Strong), and Riddler (Wally Wingert) in the new game. These characters made appearances in previous games as well.
The game introduces the villain Arkham Knight, a character created specifically for the game by Rocksteady, DC Comics CCO and comic-book writer Geoff Johns, and DC co-publisher and comic artist Jim Lee.
The Batman: Arkham Knight trailer also announces the June 2, 2015 release date.
