Marvel has released a tiny version of the upcoming Ant-Man teaser trailer, to stay in the spirit of the tiny superhero.
While the true Ant-Man teaser trailer will debut January 6 during ABC’s first episode of Agent Carter, Marvel decided to send out an amusing version of the teaser. It is impossible to truly tell what is going on, which is the idea.
Here is the “ant-sized” teaser trailer:
The full-sized teaser trailer should hit online as well as during the Agent Carter premiere on Tuesday. The official synopsis explains that Ant-Man is going to kick off the next phase of Marvel’s cinematic-comic universe. Here is the synopsis:
“The next evolution of the Marvel Cinematic Universe brings a founding member of The Avengers to the big screen for the first time with Marvel Studios’ “Ant-Man.” Armed with the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, master thief Scott Lang must embrace his inner-hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, protect the secret behind his spectacular Ant-Man suit from a new generation of towering threats. Against seemingly insurmountable obstacles, Pym and Lang must plan and pull off a heist that will save the world.”
Ant-Man stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, while Michael Douglas portrays Dr. Hank Pym in the film. Aside from Rudd and Douglas, the film also stars Evangeline Lilly, Judy Greer, and Bobby Cannavale. Additionally, Hayley Atwell will appear in the film as Peggy Carter, the same role she plays on ABC’s Agent Carter, tying the film in with the television series.
The film is directed by Peyton Reed, whose previous credits include Yes Man, The Break-Up, and Down With Love. Controversy surrounded the hiring of Reed, who took over after Edgar Wright was pushed out of the director’s chair.
The Ant-Man teaser trailer is expected to be a viral hit for Marvel, as the film has been anticipated by comic book fans for several years. The film itself will be released on July 17th.
