Margot Robbie Is Harley Quinn In ‘Suicide Squad’

Margot Robbie is Harley Quinn in the upcoming DC film ‘Suicide Squad’. The actress was speculated to have a role, but Collider claims sources say Robbie will be playing the lover and ally of Batman’s arch nemesis The Joker.

‘Suicide Squad’ is the film following ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’. DC threw everyone for a loop when the movie was announced, surprising comic book fans with a flick dedicated to the bad guys. It’s slated for a 2016 release, as revealed in Warner Bros. list of upcoming DC titles to come in the future.

Margot Robbie is Harley Quinn, ‘The Maiden of Mischief’ and thorn in Batman’s side. Robbie’s known for her breakout role in ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’, where she won audiences over as Naomi Lapaglia. She is currently filming ‘Tarzan’, where she will play Jane, and has roles in the upcoming films ‘Focus’ and ‘Z for Zachariah’.

Robbie’s name has been attached to ‘Suicide Squad’, and there are many other stars who are reportedly close to signing on for the film. Will Smith, Tom Hardy, and Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor have all been thrown into the mix for the movie. It has also been reported that Jared Leto might pick up The Joker in a post Heath Ledger world. If casted, Leto will have some large shoes to fill in order to carry on the legacy that Jack Nicholson and Ledger created.

Harley Quinn first appeared in ‘Batman: The Animated Series’ as The Joker’s sidekick and significant other. Her origins start her off as a nurse and intern at Arkham Asylum, who eventually falls head over heels in love with the ‘Crowned Prince of Crime’. She is super intelligent, very agile, has enhanced strength, and is just as crazy as the one she calls Mr. J.

Margot Robbie is Harley Quinn in DC’s ‘Suicide Squad’. Harley Quinn’s big screen debut is long overdue, and Robbie will undoubtedly give The Joker’s sweetheart the justice she deserves.
