Lindsay Lohan has been hospitalized in London, according to the latest reports surrounding the troubled starlet.

Lohan has been living in London, England since trying to make a fresh start across the pond, but a Polynesian vacation caused her to contract a rare virus called Chikungunya. Now, we’ve learned that Lohan has been admitted into King Edward VII’s hospital for treatment of the incurable virus.

TMZ reports that the actress picked up Chikungunya while vacationing in Bora Bora over the holidays. The virus is transmitted via mosquitoes who bite their victims, causing fever, joint pain and fatigue. After her Bora Bora vacation, Lohan flew to Los Angeles in order to film her commercial for Esurance. Reportedly, the ad spot will be airing during the Super Bowl.

Lohan’s hospitalization came on the heels of her flight back to London, where she’s been staying. We’ve learned that she was so ill and the joint pain was so intense that she couldn’t walk. The hospital is keeping a close watch on the actress as she is suffering from a high fever and the joint pain from which she is suffering is said to be unbearable.

According to reports, the symptoms of the virus can last in her system for up to three weeks. At this point, there aren’t too many details that have been released regarding Lindsay Lohan’s hospitalization, but we will keep this post updated if anything new is revealed.
