Super Smash Academy have created tutorials to learn ‘Super Smash Bros’ on Nintendo’s Wii U and 3DS/2DS gaming consoles. While Super Smash Academy’s lessons are meant for newcomers of the game, veterans and people returning to the party brawler might find some new tricks to use.
Super Smash Bros 4 has been out since October on the 3DS/2DS, and it released for the Wii U back in November. The video game is one of the hottest items on the shelf at stores, and being it’s a new game, a majority of the people playing are still learning.
With that said, there’s no better time than now to learn ‘Super Smash Bros’. There’s no definitive metagame for Smash 4 yet, but the game functions like a lot like ‘Super Smash Bros Brawl’ for the Wii.
Super Smash Academy’s first video, titled ‘Basics: Part 1’, covers the fundamentals of Smash 4, complete with insightful commentary to complement the easy to learn visuals.
‘Basics: Part 1’ is broken down into five parts to help you learn ‘Super Smash Bros’:
– Directional forward attacks
– Spot dodging
– Air dodging
– Shield play
One very good piece of information the Smash 4 tutorial gives is that you can aim your smash attacks and tilts, by slightly moving your control stick in that direction. You can also do this with your shield to block high or low attacks as it is shrinking.
Super Smash Academy’s second video is ‘Basics: Part 2’, and it gets a bit more technical with the game’s fundamentals. This one is broken down into four parts covering:
– Wall jumping/canceling
– Ledge options
Like all Smash Bros games, teching is a very good to know when it comes to Smash 4. The technique can save you in dire situations, and can be decisive in a one stock game.
Thanks to Super Smash Academy, anyone can learn ‘Super Smash Bros’. Did the videos teach you anything new?
