Lady Gaga announced her engagement to Taylor Kinney via Instagram. The post included a close-up photo of the diamond-studded heart-shaped ring. According to Us Weekly, Kinney popped the question, and she replied with a resounding “Yes.” The two later celebrated and were spotted together at Joanne Trattoria, a Manhattan-based restaurant owned and operated by Gaga’s family. It was reported that her father was in attendance and corked open a bottle of champagne for his daughter and soon-to-be son-in-law.

On Feb. 16, Gaga was seen wearing a baggy, purple fur coat, but it appears as if she made deliberate attempts to keep her ring finger covered. Her left hand was either covered by the coat’s sleeve or buried under her other hand.

Lady Gaga’s engagement to Kinney came after four years of dating. The two met back in 2011 when Kinney appeared in Gaga’s “You & I” music video. The two soon became romantically linked. Despite a brief split in May 2012, the duo later made amends and appear to be more in love than ever. Gaga even recently appeared on the Howard Stern Show and said that she would marry Kinney if he ever proposed.

Of course, the buzz and limelight is all around Lady Gaga, though it must be remembered that Kinney is also a star in his own right. The 33-year-old actor has had an extensive career; some of his more notable roles include a main role as Lieutenant Kelly Severide on the NBC show Chicago Fire. He also played the U.S. Navy Seal operative Jared in Zero Dark Thirty.

With the engagement, Lady Gaga certainly appears to have found her perfect match. It’s no secret that Gaga built her reputation around her flamboyant appearance and personality, and according to her, Kinney is the same way. In a 2013 interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Gaga described her man as being “extremely strange” and that they “complement each other’s weirdness.”
