Did you know that Jimmy Fallon and Nicole Kidman almost dated once? No? Neither did Jimmy Fallon.

On The Tonight Show Tuesday, Fallon hosted the 47-year-old seemingly immortal actress to talk about her new film Paddington. Instead, as Fallon revealed that he had met Kidman once before, she revealed something even juicier — that she thought their first meet was a date (or a “hang”).

Explaining first that Fallon’s ship has sailed by now (given the fact that she has been married to Keith Urban since 2006), Kidman gave her side of their now-Internet-legendary meeting all the way back in 2005.

Brought to Fallon’s apartment by a mutual friend, Kidman was single at the time and assumed that she was being set up. Fallon, on the other hand, was nervous about hosting an A-list star and went to his happy place — playing video games and mumbling.

While he did provide a deli brie, Kidman took Fallon’s behavior as disinterest and nothing came of it.

After learning that he presumably had a chance to date one of Hollywood’s most affable and beautiful stars, Fallon crumbled on stage as the band played the “wah wahhhhh.”
