We’re leaving our homes for vacation and we can’t help but feel bad as we say goodbye to our pets. Sometimes our pets have the privilege of coming with us because we can’t bare to leave them alone for the week. However, one man got unlucky as all he wanted to do was bring his two Yorkshire Terriers with him on his private jet.

Johnny Depp may be facing time in jail because of his dogs. That’s right, his dogs. Depp brought his dogs with him to Australia and that’s when the madness unfolded. The following is from Entertainment Weekly:

The actor, who visited Australia to film the latest installment of Pirates of the Caribbean, brought his two Yorkshire terriers, Pistol and Boo, into the country via a private jet without proper documentation. The country has strict laws to minimize biosecurity risks that require animals to spend 10 days in quarantine, and pet owners must apply for a permit.

Australia’s Minister of Agriculture Barnaby Jones placed a deadline of 50 hours for the dogs to be removed from the country before the government would supervise their euthanization. The dogs flew home before the deadline. The investigation by the Department of Agriculture into how the dogs arrived in the country is still on-going, according to People.

The dogs were discovered to be in Australia when a groomer posted a picture of the dogs on social media. If that picture wasn’t posted Depp may have been able to get away with it. Although, he could be charged with a large fine or even jail time, he’s not the only person in trouble. Depp’s Pilot could receive up to two years for not declaring the presence of Pistol and Boo.

The good news is that Depp got his dogs out of the country in time. However, even if Depp gets the fine minimized at all, his pilot will still face a lot of questions. It’s terrible that all of this happened, especially because a preventative measured could’ve been taken to avoid all of this.
