Jessica Lange is bringing Lana Del Rey to American Horror Story: Freak Show. The actress will be covering a song by the 29-year-old singer for the upcoming season of the popular FX horror series.
News of the song cover was teased by showrunner Ryan Murphy on Tuesday. A fan said they were scared by the newest Freak Show trailer, which led Murphy to tweet: “Tina, don’t be afraid! The clown is scary, true. But don’t you wanna see Jessica Lange sing a Lana Del Rey song?”
Jessica Lange plays the role of Elsa Mars, a German expatriate and manager of one of the last remaining freak shows in the United States.
American Horror Story: Freak Show Premieres on October 8, with what Ryan Murphy calls a “super-sized 90 minutes.”
Lana Del Rey released her third studio album in June, a record that debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Her album had sold more than one million copies by July, thanks in no small part to the albums singles, “West Coast,” “Shades of Cool,” and “Brooklyn Baby.”
Fans of the singer and American Horror Story: Freak Show freaked out over news of the upcoming song cover.
