The “Today” show host, Hoda Kotb, was showcasing the features of the new Samsung watchphone when she accidentally flashed the camera a view of her cellphone number. Hoda was attempting to call her personal cell from the new watchphone when she turned the screen to the camera.

Needless to say viewers immediately noted down the number and the outpour of calls and text messages began. Hoda answered the initial phone calls stating the first one was from Bridgeport.

Co-host Kathie Lee Gifford quipped, “Hoda, you have a lot of fans and a couple of prisoners.” Hoda had been warned by her co-host that this could happen, and mentioned it before she began playing with the Samsung watchphone.

Hoda seemed to realized what she’d done as the calls kept piling on and counted 20 voicemails on her phone.

“Oh my god, it’s happening. Oh my god,” she said as her phone kept ringing.

The event caused a stir on the Twitterverse as many questioned why Hoda would do such a thing.

This however, isn’t the first time a cell number has been shown on live TV as co-host Kathie Lee Gifford showed her daughter’s number when she took a call from her while on air. Her daughter Cassidy received multiple calls from viewers which forced her to change her number.
