Eion Bailey played a supporting role early on in ABC’s Once Upon A Time, and is set to make his return to the show. He played August Booth in the real world, and Pinocchio in the fairy-tale land.
Once Upon A Time just finished its story-line that featured a crossover with the hit film Frozen, and introduced the villains for the second half of the season during the winter finale. While the show typically only has a couple of villains per season, the creators were clearly planning something big when they decided to introduce the Queens Of Darkness, a trio consisting of Ursula, Cruella De Vil, and Maleficent.
The characters of Ursula, Cruella De Vil, and Maleficent will be portrayed by Merrin Dungey, Victoria Smurfit, and Victoria Smurfit respectively. They were teased at the end of Once Upon A Time‘s last episode in flashbacks with Rumpelstiltskin, and he proceeded to go find each of them in order for the four of them to get a happy ending after he was forced to leave Storybrooke.
In addition to the Queens Of Darkness, it is apparent that Pinocchio will play a role in the second half of season four somehow with the return of Eion Bailey to the cast. He is set to appear in multiple episodes, and will be seen first in episode 14 titled “Enter The Dragon.”
When he was last seen on the show, Bailey’s character was killed by Tamara in the season 2 episode “Selfless, Brave, and True.” Blue was able to save him, although she was only able to restore him to his 7-year-old self before the curse happened.
As a result, Bailey will only be able to appear in flashbacks, although he will probably be connected to the author of the storybook that Regina has been seeking in some way. The second half of season four is set to explore the notion of what it means to be a hero and a villain and what can make a happy ending.
Since his departure from Once Upon A Time in season 2, Eion Bailey has been seen in Ray Donovan with a recurring role, and a guest on an episode of Law and Order: SVU. Notable film credits include Fight Club and Almost Famous.
