Next up are Simone Biles and Sasha Farber, dancing a jive to “Faith” by Stevie Wonder featuring Ariana Grande. The couple was paired up with Carrie Ann Inaba for the Judges’ Challenge. She encourages Simone to not be so perfect by being free.

Bruno Tonioli commends the fact that she let loose and showed a reckless attitude. He adds that she did not miss a step. Inaba loves that Simone tapped into a different side of her and calls the dance “amazing.” Len Goodman calls it sharp and adds that her personality really came out. Julianne Hough says she really brought the sassiness. They score a perfect 40.

Welcome to the semifinals! The four remaining couples will perform two dances: one for the Judges’ Challenge in which each judge has been paired with a couple during rehearsals to challenge them with a specific dance and song. The second round will feature a dance style that the couple has not yet performed in the competition. Featured dance styles include jive, rumba, foxtrot, Viennese waltz, quickstep, tango and jazz. Three couples will earn their spots in the two-night finale next week.

According to ABC, Biles, 19, “is already considered one of the best and most decorated gymnasts in the history of the sport. She was adopted by her grandparents at a young age, and they have been a major influence in her life, introducing her to the sport of gymnastics. She was always jumping around at a young age and was introduced to the sport on a school field trip to Bannon’s Gymnastix at the age of six. While she trains close to 35 hours per week, Biles knows how to keep things fun and is known for inventing new skills during training.”
