Angelina Jolie’s marriage to husband Brad Pitt is hard work, according to the actress herself. The duo have been partners in life for ten years prior to tying the knot a few months back, but she says that being married to Pitt is seemingly harder than we would all think.

Jolie and Pitt married in August 2014 at the urging of their children, who in turn, helped them with their wedding vows and their mother’s wedding dress. In a new interview with The Australian Women’s Weekly, Jolie revealed, “Maintaining a marriage and raising kids is hard work. He and I work really hard at nurturing our family to make sure that everybody is alright and everyone stays connected.”

Jolie’s marriage to Pitt took place in France at their Chateau Miraval estate in a secret ceremony. As they had such busy schedules, they managed to carve out some time in order to tie the knot. She said, “You have to really make sure that your work doesn’t get in the way. That you don’t do something that is going to put too much strain on your family.”

Angelina Jolie’s marriage came nearly ten years after she fell in love with Pitt on the set of their shared 2005 movie Mr. & Mrs. Smith. The happy couple shares six children together and she can’t stop gushing about her large brood. She said, “They’re six of the funniest people we have ever met in our lives. We love being home and we love being around them because they are just so entertaining.”

In a recent interview with People, Jolie revealed her biggest moments of the year – one of the biggest was her son Maddox becoming a teenager. Prior to that, the actress announced her future plans to retire from acting in favor of directing.
