Everyone is looking for new, innovative strategies to better their digital marketing plan. Whether it’s social media or creating clever videos, it’s all about staying ahead of the curve. So it’s easy to forget about what worked in the past.
One of those examples is email marketing. Email marketing is from the prehistoric days of digital marketing, and by many, it’s considered an extinct form of digital marketing. Well if you believe that, then you are wrong.
It’s actually quite the opposite. Email marketing is not only continuing to thrive in today’s technological society, but it’s actually getting better. According to HubSpot, 76% of marketers today say they use email more now than they did three years ago.
So why and how is email marketing still thriving? Well think about it. How many times a day are you checking your email? Probably quite often, and with the advancement in technology with smartphones, people have access to their email accounts 24/7. This has led to 95% of consumers using email and 91% of them check their inbox at least once per day. Are you starting to get the picture here? Email marketing is big and it doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere soon.
Another major advantage of email marketing is its lifespan. One of the biggest opponents of email marketing is social media. People love the real-time experience of social media, and it’s becoming, if not already, a staple for all digital marketers.
But one thing email marketing has that social media doesn’t is a guarantee of longevity. Think about how many posts you see in an hour on Facebook, Twitter or other social media platforms. Shoot, think about how many posts you see in 10 minutes!
Email doesn’t work like that. Yes, your email will eventually work its way down a consumer’s inbox, but not at the lightning speed of social media. This longevity of an email provides it with a better, longer opportunity to gain more leads and conversions.
So as you can see, email marketing isn’t going anywhere and chances are, it will be beneficial to your digital marketing plan.
