Google’s Matt Cutts recently addressed a question that asked about whether content should be written in a scientific manner, or something easier to read, which the individual related to writing for a 6th grader.

The question:

Should I write content that is easier to read or more scientific? Will I rank better if I write for 6th graders?
Ben Holland, Phoenix, AZ

Matt’s response was that the content should focus on being clear and easy to understand. Google has already created an easy way to report scraped content outranking the original, so it is clear that they are really on a clean up spree and want to make it clear to webmasters what they view as quality content. To sum up Matt’s response, be encouraged people to create content that sounds as natural as possible and also suggested reading it out loud to pick up any possible snags. You don’t need to write in a scientific manner to get Google to consider it high quality. It just needs to make sense and provide a value to the reader.
