Around 11:08 this morning, BlackBerry sent a tweet from an iPhone. The tweet called out their loyal users to “keep up with the conversation” on Twitter.

It’s odd and very curious that an iPhone was used on BlackBerry’s official twitter account. It’s also odd that they advertise their  BlackBerry Classic, as one of the best phones for typing fast.

The Verge is the one to catch the slip. On the normal Twitter app, users can’t see what device the tweet was sent from. But when it comes to third-party clients such as Tweetbot and Tweetdeck, that information becomes visible. Either the employee didn’t know that or forgot.

Since the discovery, whoever used the iPhone quickly deleted the tweet. They haven’t tweeted anything about the incident, so they may be planning to just ignore it and hope others do to.

Now, people everywhere are calling out the company for making a careless mistake that makes the company look like even they prefer their competitors.

The mistake is most likely getting plenty of attention at headquarters, and a particular employee may be making a trip to the Manager’s office. They’ll probably be a lot more careful in the future.
