Using Facebook Ads for App Downloads

Question for you, how do you increase sales when your product is a mobile app? The answer is easy. Online advertising is the simplest and most effective way to boost mobile app sales. When it comes to online advertising, Facebook offers one of the easiest ways to get your mobile app in the hands of new customers.

Only a Dollar a Day

You might already be aware of this, but Facebook advertising is cheap. A majority of my clients who have limited funds are able to advertise on Facebook thanks to the platform’s low daily spend requirements. Not only is the platform relatively cheap, the results you get when you spend only a dollar or two can be impressive.

Just how inexpensive are we talking? With Facebook, you can see results for as low as a dollar a day. Yes, you read that right, only a dollar a day. I feel like an “As Seen On TV” pitchman every time I type that, but it’s true.

Not only is it affordable, but it’s effective. Facebook has over 2.7 billion monthly active users. Those are a lot of eyeballs on your ads. However, a savvy advertiser knows that not all eyeballs are created equally. With this in mind, Facebook allows you to create custom audiences based on your ideal customer. I have always found the Facebook custom audience feature to be unparalleled in the world of digital marketing, with only LinkedIn coming close to giving you the same control.

Ideal for Mobile Apps

Facebook is not only a great way to reach the right audience, but it is also an ideal way to get customers to your Google Play and Apple App Store listings. Why? Because a majority of Facebook users access the platform from a mobile device. In fact, over 95% of the 2.7 billion monthly active users access the social media platform on a mobile device. This means that Facebook gives you access to a market of users who are already on the correct device for you.

Facebook has a built-in SDK to allow users to track not only ad clicks but also track actual app events. This means that you can track app installs and in-app purchases. For example, with the SDK installed, you can track how much an ad click costs and how much you are spending to achieve an app sale. This is by far the easiest way to track your ROI.

Options for Your Ads

One of my favorite things about Facebook ads for mobile apps is the ability to use various ad types including one of my personal favorites, the image carousel. This might not seem like a big deal but I have always loved the idea of several images being used to create one larger image. It’s basically a diptych for online advertising.
