Are you looking for a way to earn money online? Why not try blogging?

Since the rise of modern technology, the Internet has become a part of the everyday lives of anyone who has access to it. Not only is it steadily integrating into our daily routine, the Internet is also one of the most popular communication mediums.

The Internet has many uses—most  use it as a means to communicate with friends and family, while some use it for educational and/or research purposes. And a growing number of people are already making money out of it.

How do they do that? At first, it may seem a little farfetched to earn a living from just by clicking, typing and surfing the Net. But it has been an ongoing trend even before the start of the new millennium. And one of the most common ways to do that is through blogging.

What is blogging? It is a shorter term for weblogging, which is like writing a journal online. A blog (short for weblog) is an article posted in a website for the public to see. It can be updated daily, weekly, or even monthly.

So how do you make money by writing blogs? Listed here are the usual ways of doing it:

Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is a commission-based system wherein you sell someone’s product and you get commission for every successful sale made from your referral. The merchant (the owner of the product) provides a link to be added to the affiliate’s (your) website, so that everytime someone clicks on it, they get directed to the merchant’s page.

This is a little similar to affiliate marketing. You get a link provided by your client and when someone clicks on it from your page, your get paid. So the more clicks you get on the provided link, the more money you make. A good example of this is Google’s Adsense.

There are cases where a company would want to pay you to place their ad on your website. You can also call it “ad space leasing,” since they are pretty much the same.

These are just some of the few things you can do to make money through blogs. Just don’t forget that blogging is not the kind of business that earns money right away. Keep in mind that this would take lots of work in the beginning and cash would not be flowing for a while. But with continuous effort and perseverance, you would notice your income steadily rising.

There really is a good opportunity to make a living out of blogging. Should you decide to pursue this kind of venture, make sure you do a lot of research about it before starting up. As a famous saying goes, “test the waters first before diving in.”
