Twitter, it used to be the talk of the internet but that all changed when Facebook became so big in such a hurry. Do you use Twitter to help market your website? Do you use Twitter to follow your friends and see what they are up to? People are still using Twitter, so it is not deal; however, it is not what it once was.
If you are an internet marketer or a blogger, then Twitter can still be very valuable to you. What most people don’t realize is that Twitter still can help divert traffic from your Tweets to your actual site if you know what you are doing. Where most people fail is they either Tweet too much about useless stuff or they don’t Tweet enough.
So, do you need some help getting more out of Twitter?
Tips on Getting Traffic from Twitter
Tweet, Tweet, Tweet – If you are not Tweeting, then you are never going to get anywhere on Twitter. What most people don’t realize is sending a Tweet every few weeks is just not enough. Even if you send a Tweet every few days it is not enough. What you need to understand is the more Tweets you can send in a day, the more followers you will get and that in turn will get you more traffic to your website.

Follow Other Similar People – If you are not following people that are just like you then you are going to have a tough time getting followed by those people as well. What I have done in the past is follow other people just like myself and once I did that my followers started to increase drastically. One of the things that I have seen lately is many Twitter accounts following hundreds of other accounts in hopes of those accounts following them back. This is a good strategy to use but I would watch this because some people won’t follow you back.
Never Spam Your Followers – As a Twitter user I absolutely hate it when people I am following spam me. Don’t you hate this as well? It is because of this that I would never spam your followers unless you want them to leave you in a hurry. Almost anything can be viewed as spam, so you need to be careful when it comes to this. Just know that your followers are all different, so make sure you know who they are and what they like before you start Tweeting too much.
Use Hash Tags – When people are talking about another person or an event, they should use the hash tag for that person or event. The reason for doing this is to get that person or event to notice you and then follow/promote you as well. Where many people fail is they don’t do this enough. I know you don’t want to promote somebody else; however, this is the quickest way to get to where you want to be.
Provide A Link – When posting anything on Twitter you should consider adding a link to your Tweets, but you need to be cautious when you do this. A lot of Twitter accounts will post a link in almost every Tweet and this is a huge turnoff, so that is why I don’t recommend it. My advice is to provide your link every 5 Tweets.
Lastly, Twitter is not dead and it is not going anywhere for now. Something that I highly suggest is that you keep using Twitter along with Facebook and all the other social media networks out there because all of them combined will help with your marketing.
