In a smart and stylish marketing move (LG Mobile is teaming up with celebrity stylist/designer Rachel Zoe to promote their new Marquee phone to young females. Zoe will be part of a web series called “Style Rules” played on Alloy’s digital platforms, where she’ll host a competition show among style bloggers and will communicate with them via the Marquee phone. There’s money in web based shows, which is why they’re popping up everywhere. Speaking of which, CliffNotes is also launching a web series so students don’t even have to read book summaries, but instead they can watch content about the classic stories. When it comes to children consuming fast food (ads certainly have a large impact on what they eat, but a recent study shows that parents’ opinions about healthy eating is also influential. The study found that if parents encouraged their kids to pick the healthier option over fries, they were more likely to do so, which is good news as many restaurants implement healthier kids meals. Hopefully with more fruits and veggies available at restaurants and the support of parents, childhood obesity will decline) (USA Today)
