Natura has just announced a massive recall on their pet foods. To be specific, they’re recalling all of their dry pet food offerings.
If your dry Natura brand pet food has an expiration date on or before June 10th, 2014, you need to take it back to the store you purchased it from.
The company has decided to have an official recall after one of their dog foods tested positive for salmonella. Now, keep in mind that this was just a single instance in which the dog food tested positive for salmonella. Therefore, you probably have nothing to worry about, but it’s better to be safe than sorry.
This is the statement that’s been released by Natura:
We made this decision in part due to a single positive Salmonella test by the FDA on product manufactured April 3. Normally, this would have resulted in retrieval of product manufactured over just a few days. However, we are taking the additional precautionary measure to recall all products in the marketplace. Our first priority is the wellbeing of the pets we serve. Our decision allows us to ensure that all products available in the marketplace were produced after June 10, the date when we implemented additional finished product testing procedures with the guidance of industry experts.
