It’s cool when people under promise and over deliver right?
Well, according to the Japanese blog Macotakara, that’s exactly what our good friends at Apple are doing with the iPad 3 introduction date. In our previous post, 5 Epic epic features of the new iPad 3, we informed you that it was expected to debut in March or April, 2012. Perhaps we were wrong!
Here’s the original lowdown:
According to Asian supplier and a source in United States, Apple seems to prepare to hold Special Event in early February. Because Chinese factory will be in holiday of New Year, then new product is concidered to be released in early March. Apple had held Special Event for iPad 2 in 2nd March in 2011, and then released iOS 4.3 and iPad 2 at 11th March. At that Special Event, Apple told that iPad 2 will be shipped at 25th March in 26 countries including Japan, but Great East Japan Earthquake had postponed releasing iPad 2 until 28th April in Japan.
What does this mean to you?
It means one of two things. Apple will most likely introduce the latest iPad to the world in early February and it will either be released shortly afterwards (as it did in 2011), or it will be released four weeks later, which is the probably option as it will be Chinese New Year and the factories will be closed.
So get your sleeping bag out of storage and ask your boss for a couple days off in March, you’ll be lining up at your local Apple store soon. What feature are you most excited about? Is is the rumored Retina display that doubles the pixels of the first two iPads to an astonishing 2048 x 1536? Maybe the faster A6 processor? Or maybe it’s because we heard it’s supposed to include the new smart assistant Siri? Either way, you know it’s going to be incredible.
Here’s the question everyone wants to know: Are you going to replace your current iPad with the iPad 3 when it launches? Will it be the worth the cost difference? Why or why not? Let us know in the comments below! We love hearing from you.
