Week 10 NFL Picks Against the Spread

2011NFL Week10Picks btb main Week 10 NFL Picks Against the Spread

We’re now at the halfway point of the NFL season. While parity ruled the headlines the first few weeks of the season, take a look at the standings now and it seems like the playoffs are pretty much set. In the AFC, the Pats are lock in the East, the Steelers and Ravens will probably make it out of the North, the Texans have the South and the Broncos the West, and after last night it looks like the Colts should snag the last spot.

In the NFC, all the current division leaders are pretty much locks (Giants, Bears, Falcons, 49ers). You can put the Packers in that category as well. The 6th spot is up for grabs, and it’s probably going to come down to either the Seahawks, Buccaneers or Lions. A little depressing that 11 of the 12 playoff spots seems locked but you never know, maybe one team comes out of nowhere like the Broncos last year or team bombs down the stretch. As Chris Berman likes to say, “that’s why they play the games.” Now let me stop blabbering and get on to my picks against the spread for Week 10, the reason you all are here. Buffalo Bills (+11) over the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS

Can Chan Gailey please give C.J. Spiller more carries? The man is averaging 7.2 yards per carry and it’s Week 10.

New York Giants (-4) over the CINCINNATI BENGALS

This feels like the game Eli breaks out of his mini-slump.

TAMPA BAY BUCCANEERS (-3) over the San Diego Chargers

Are the Bucs an offensive juggernaut? 4 straight games with at least 28 points and I’d bet on a 5th. In other news, how disappointing is it that Doug Martin hates being called “muscle hamster.”

CAROLINA PANTHERS (+4) over the Denver Broncos

Could be my favorite pick of the week. The Panthers aren’t as bad as their record says and they’re getting points at home. Book it.

Tennessee Titans (+6) over the MIAMI DOLPHINS

This line feels a little high. Locker coming back should give this Titans offense a boost.

Oakland Raiders (+7.5) over the BALTIMORE RAVENS

Ravens looking to extend their home winning streak to 15, the longest active streak in the NFL.

NEW ORLEANS SAINTS (-1) over the Atlanta Falcons

Are the Falcons the worst 8-0 team in history? Is anyone really scared to play them in the playoffs? Oh and Drew Brees owns Atlanta (10-2 since joining the Saints).

Detroit Lions (-1) over the MINNESOTA VIKINGS

Vikings defense has been shredded by Russell Wilson and Josh Freeman the past two weeks for 6 TDs. I’d expect to see the first Stafford to Megatron touchdown of the season.

New York Jets (+6) over the SEATTLE SEAHAWKS

This is just a pure homer pick. I can’t think of one logical reason why the Jets will win this game.

PHILADELPHIA EAGLES (+1) over the Dallas Cowboys

Weird stat: Tony Romo is a ridiculous 19-3 in November, completing 67.2 % of his passes for 6,031 yards with 52 TDs vs. 14 INTs.

SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS (-11) over the St. Louis Rams

Love watching Rams rookie WR Chris Givens who’s looking to catch a 50-yard pass for the 6th game in a row.

CHICAGO BEARS (-1) over the Houston Texans

Can the Texans get blown out by another NFC North team on Sunday Night Football? Probably not, but I’m still loving the Bears at home.

Kansas City Chiefs (+11.5) over the Pittsburgh Steelers

The Chiefs have still yet to hold a lead in regulation. Thinking the Chiefs at least put up a fight on national television while the Steelers are already looking ahead to Baltimore next week.

This Week: 0-1

Last Week: 9-5

Year-to-Date: 64-68-3
