I too use Pinterest for my crafty ideas.

I also live in Raleigh, North Carolina as well.

  • I’m new to the blogging sphere, but I hope one day I’ll get as many people to be inspired by what I have to offer.. Good job writing this article! Loved it :)

I have seen her hairstyles pinned a lot! That is an incredible story. Those numbers are seriously impressive.

I have sort of a backwards Pinterest success story. I actually started my business (etsy shop where I sell onesies after I saw a picture in my flickr photostream blowing up with views. It was a picture of a onesie I had made as a gift for a friend ( Somebody randomly pinned it. I don’t know the person who originally pinned it, but I owe them a debt of gratitude. The onesie went viral, so to speak, on Pinterest. I suddenly had hundreds of views every day. It took me a while, probably too long, but I set up an Etsy shop to try to capitalize on my onesie’s popularity. Then I went back to the original flickr picture and added a link to my shop. I have had some good success, 350+ sales since September! At first I was painting all the onesies by hand but I soon had to learn how to screen print in order to keep up with demand. Now I have a facebook page for my Etsy shop, and whenever I post new designs to the shop, I encourage my fans to pin the ones they like. :)

Kate’s success extends beyond the blog and her business – I noticed last week that the hair products she recommends are frequently searched together on Amazon (and or course, I discovered that by searching for one). She is influencing buyer behavior. Quite interesting!
