What happens when the world’s most popular social network – Facebook which has more than 1.28 billion monthly active users and 1.01 billion monthly mobile active users as of March 2014 goes down for thirty minutes?
Life comes to a stand still, users go mad, land up on Twitter to have a blast and express their witty side, resulting into hashtags like #Facebookdown and #WhenFacebookWasDown to trend globally at the same time. In fact the hashtag #Facebookdown is still trending on India Twitter trends as I am writing this story.
As reported by TNW, The global outage began at 00:55 PDT, as downdetector shows. After thirty minutes the social network was back and Facebook also released an apology without going into much details what actually caused the outage.
Earlier today, we experienced an issue that prevented people from posting to Facebook for a brief period of time.
We resolved the issue quickly, and we are now back to 100%. We’re sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.
But the inconvenience was caused and Facebook started trending on Twitter even while it was back. We have curated 31 of the most hilarious tweets below, which will definitely bring a smile on your face.
