How to Convert your Pinterest Account to a Company Page

This just in, according to a report by Mashable, Pinterest just launched company pages Looking into it I’ve discovered how to convert your Pinterest Account into a Business Account. Just in time for the holiday season!

Before Pinterest Introduced Business Accounts, brands and businesses were forced to create personal accounts which provided no added benefit. For those of you who have setup your company as a personal account, you are now able to convert it to a business account. This also allows companies to enter just their business name instead of providing a first and last name as well as verifying their official website with their new business account.

Once you’ve logged into your current Pinterest account, navigate here to begin the conversion process.

The Next Steps:

Once you’ve agreed to Pinterest’s terms and conditions and privacy policy you will then be brought to your new business account. Pinterest will then provide you a walk-through to get you started including:

Verifying your website to allow users to see your full website URL on your profile and in search results, how to start pinning with the Pinterest Bookmarklet, how to drive traffic to your Business account by adding a Pin It Button, and finally how to grow you audience by inviting people to follow your Pinterest account with a Follow Button.

Considering rumors of Facebook limiting Fan page reach amongst other complaints this update marks the beginning for greater business participation on the platform and I expect with it’s adoption more and more tools will be developed such as Analytic data etc.
