Three Reasons NOT To Use Google Adsense

Online Marketing

If you have a web site or blog, then there is a good chance that you’ve used Google Adsense at some point.

Heck, you might still even be using Adsense to make money with your site.

There’s nothing wrong with it, you just might be leaving a lot of money on the table.

Three Reasons NOT To Use Google Adsense image Do Not Use Google AdsenseLet’s take a look at what makes Google Adsense so awesome.

  • millions of advertisers that can convert with any niche audience
  • amazingly simple to sign up and implement on your site
  • one account, one check… paid monthly

Seems simple right? It definitely is!

However simplicity comes at a cost.

In addition to the percentage that Google is taking for every click from their site, you also have these negatives to using Adsense.

  • sending visitors away from your site for pennies
  • earning a fraction of what you could with other advertising methods
  • Google can deactivate your account and keep funds at any time

So there we have a nice comparison… three benefits to using Google Adsense and three negatives.

Now let’s talk about some alternatives and how you can make more money through your sites.

Focus on Your Brand and Not the Quick Dollar

The biggest reason why many people end up leaving Google Adsense is that they hate to lose the traffic on their site. Depending on the niche you are in, you can be losing valuable traffic for just a few pennies per click.

Niche Sites & Google = Success?

Everyone talks about how great niche sites perform with Google Adsense, but that may also be a result of how lazy a site owner might be. One alternative is to start your niche site, run Google Adsense, see what ads are running, then see if they have their own affiliate programs. Instead of getting a few pennies per click, you could be doing much better on a lead and commission basis.

Creating Your Own Product

At the end of the day it’s all about your brand. You can keep creating sites and serving Adsense, but if your sites go away or Adsense account is banned, then you are left with nothing! Instead you should be focusing on building your own brands, services and products. This way you will have a lasting business that continues to grow day after day, instead of growing someone elses.

Don’t get me wrong, Google Adsense is simply amazing and will continue to make web sites and their owners money for years to come… but there are plenty of better alternatives out there.

Take a look at your web sites and business model and see if you are leaving money on the table by restricting yourself to Google Adsense.
