Brand Phoenix: Pokémon Is Back!

Oddball

Brand Phoenix: Pokémon Is Back! image pikachu pokemon 248x300I would like to believe that everyone between the ages of 18 and 30 went through a fixation with Pokémon at some point during their childhood. (And if they did not, please refrain from telling me; I don’t need to feel worse about my lack of social graces.) It has been a long seven years since the last installment of the games came out. And, as you all know, seven years is an awfully long time to delay the uncontrollable urge to trap wild animals and force them to fight for you.

Relax, It’s Back!

For all you super fans out there who pine for your days of glory – traipsing through the wild, trapping and housing wild animals in cages the size of a tennis ball, only letting them out when you force them to fight until are beaten into unconsciousness – you have very little time to wait. Pokémon X & Y are set to arrive next month.

New Features, Same Game

Poké-purists will be happy that the basic structure of the game and its plot remain unchanged. For people who want a little something new, however, Pokémon X & Y offers plenty of new features to keep you entertained for hours.

Most notably, the new Pokémon features the franchise’s first fully rendered 3D environment. Even the original 151 Pokémon have been fully drawn in 3D. Furthermore, the new games will introduce more than 700 new specimens for enthusiasts to capture, imprison and train.

For more information and insight on the new game, you can check out this interview with the game’s creator, Junichi Masuda.

Are you excited for the new Pokémon games or could you care less?

Your article is lazy. It says you posted this today? Well, here are some edits. It comes out NEXT WEEK Oct. 12. There aren’t over 700 NEW pokémon… It’s 700 INCLUDING the new ones and it’s only 3D during fight scenes. I hope you don’t get paid to write trash like this…
