Think QR Codes are Cheesy? Kraft Doesn’t!

Kraft Foods is starting off 2012 by embracing the popularity of mobile technology. To promote their line of cheeses, Kraft is putting QR codes on packages of cheese starting in February.

Once scanned, the QR codes (customized for five different cheeses) will take consumers to an optimized landing page where they’ll find recipes.

To ensure their recipes appeal to all consumers, they’ll be able to select recipes from the following categories: brunch, sandwiches, entrees and appetizers.

Mobile Marketer says that QR code marketing is a welcome addition to Kraft’s already comprehensive advertising strategy. They noted, “In addition to mobile bar codes, Kraft has also used SMS, mobile web, apps and advertising for its brands, showing the importance that mobile plays in a 360-degree marketing push.”

What do you think of Kraft Foods’ QR code marketing plan?
