In November, we wrote a blog post about Chili’s Bar & Grill using QR codes to encourage consumers to donate to St. Jude. Now, Chili’s has created scannable menus to provide consumers with a fun and easy way to get nutritional information.
The scannable QR-code enhanced menus are available at over 800 Chili’s restaurants throughout the U.S. Once scanned, the QR codes will present information on seven new Lighter Choice menu items that have fewer calories and fat.
Chili’s is also putting QR codes on their children’s menu to encourage kids to eat healthier. The QR codes will also offer consumers a chance to sign up for their email program.
Bryan Laurienti, co-owner of BBB Systems, said he thinks that by embracing mobile technology, Chili’s will be able to gain new patrons and help to differentiate themselves over the competition. Mobile Marketer noted, “For Chili’s, using the mobile bar codes is a smart move because it gives users the nutritional information, which may not be available elsewhere.”
Will you be using Chili’s new scannable QR code menu?
