To encourage bar patrons to learn more about their brand, Sam Adams put QR codes on bar coasters this holiday season.
Putting the QR code on bar coasters is a way to get people to notice the brand in a new and exciting way. And since marketing material like banners, signs, and even table tents often get overlooked in a distracting environment like a bar, Sam Adams is hoping it’ll foster engagement and introduce more people to the brand.
Mobile Marketer explains, “The Samuel Adams coaster, which consists of four panels that make a never ending loop, has been a great way to generate interest. The interaction is smooth and easy to use on iPhones and Android devices.”
Once bar patrons scan the Sam Adams QR code with their smartphone, they’ll be taken to a mobile site where they’ll be asked to enter their name, email address, mailing address, and date of birth. The benefit of doing this is to receive a coupon good toward the purchase of Samuel Adams glasses from the brand’s ecommerce site.
Mobile Marketer noted “More companies have an interest in adding QR codes to everything from marketing pieces to instruction manuals where they take you to a video that shows you how to assemble the product.”
Have you used QR codes on your marketing materials yet?
