Mojostreet, the Hyderabad based social local search startup has announced that it is going global. The startup that helps discovery of places and hangouts on your fingertips has been focusing only on local markets till now. With the latest development, the startup would not only provide users the facility to search for services in global locations but has also revamped the service and added certain new features.
On the occasion Kalyan Manyam, Co-founder, Mojostreet had this to share, “This marks the official entry of Mojostreet into the Global markets. The new revamped version will provide users with amazing social and in-depth search experience for finding the best local businesses in their city”.
The global expansion for the startup was on the cards since a long time. Kalyan had expressed his willingness to go global when the startup had secured $350K in seed funding, led by Srini Koppolu, former Managing Director of Microsoft India and J.A. Chowdary former Managing Director of Nvidia India. Kalyan had shared during that time, that he plans to launch Mojostreet in the U.S. and Singapore. However at the moment, it is not clear what are the international countries Mojostreet plans to cover.
In addition to the expansion, the startup has made some much required enhancements across it’s Mobile app, Web and WAP properties. The latest features that have been added are – 1) Ask A Friend and 2) Search Filters.

“Ask A Friend” is a feature that goes by the name. If you want to go to a place for eating or shopping that you haven’t visited before then by using this feature, you can ask your friends who might have visited the place and get an instant reply from them. The below screen grab shows the feature.
“Search Filters” is the second feature that will make the experience of the users on the platform fruitful. With filters added to your search, the results that would be fetched would be more appropriate and will meet your requirements more accurately. For example if you are looking to grab a meal in your locality then you can add filters like Delivery, Wifi, Bars, Pure Veg, Sunday Brunch, etc. These kinds of smart filters have been added to each of its category that is populated in Nearby feature.
The latest features that have been added not only make the startup socially interesting but makes the discovery platform more effective too. Much required enhancements that will help the global launch of MojoStreet and to survive the heat of international competition too.
