Recently, they decided to give hotel guests a new and exciting way to get information, including directions and suggestions for nearby attractions by projecting a holographic image onto a life-size cut-out of a person in their hotel lobby.
The holographic concierge can tell you the best spots for dining, entertainment, and shopping and will even provide you with QR codes for additional information and coupons. What a helpful hologram!
Mobile Marketer explains, “The QR codes within the virtual concierge are divided into two categories — green QR codes are used for downloading information, addresses, directions and more, while red QR codes offer discounts and coupons. The QR codes are offered as a complement to the concierge’s services.”
Since travelers are often pressed for time, Aloft Hotel thinks hotel guests will appreciate not having to find a pen and paper to write down the information they need. Instead, they can pull up the URL through the provided QR codes with their smartphones, providing them with fast, easy access to pertinent info.

The article went on to note another cool feature of the holographic concierge, “The holographic concierge uses high-definition images of plates of food or products that are enhanced with the use of smell via AromaFusion technology to help address guests’ questions. The messages are delivered 24 hours a day.”
