5 Google Tools To Help Boost Your Inbound Marketing Immediately image google marketing toolsAny marketer knows that the Internet is a powerful tool that consumers use every day to make purchasing decisions. We use various search engines to find information we are looking for in a short period of time. And while some of us are using other search engines to conduct our findings, it’s Google that dominates as the Internet’s powerhouse.

In today’s digital world, I find that many marketers overlook, or simply don’t understand, the various tools Google has created to help boost business. The tools Google has created help drive the most important part of any Inbound Marketing effort – content creation.

Here are 5 Google tools you should begin using immediately to help boost your Inbound Marketing:

1.) Google Keyword Tool: The Google Keyword Tool is an important component for any business as consumers enter keywords into search engines to find information and make purchases every day. This is important because you want searchers to find your company and website when looking for information related to your business. The tool allows you to enter keywords you want to rank for and provides closely related keyword combinations as well as suggests keywords used within the website you’ve entered. What’s also unique about the tool is that it provides approximately how many monthly searches the keyword generates and how competitive your keyword is. When entering keywords, keep in mind that more narrow and specific keywords produce better results than broad terms.

2.) Google Alerts: Google Alerts is a free, powerful tool that helps marketers monitor the Web for specific mentions. Every time a selected keyword or phrase is used, Google sends an email to your user or company email address alerting you that the term or phrase is being used. Google allows the user to filter their alerts. Most importantly, Google Alerts help your business stay connected to news related to your industry and brand. Be sure to remember to carefully select only a few terms related your industry and to monitor them daily.

3.) Google+: Google+ is yet another valuable marketing tool that helps businesses attract social media and search engine traffic to their website. Like Facebook, users can set up a profile page and add connections. But what’s different is that Google+ allows the user to organize those connections into circles. Circles allow you to put various different people into specific groupings or lists. This allows you to share and find relevant content with only those people you are interested in. What’s most important to remember is to use the +1 button to allow other users the ability to share your links and promote results in Google search results.

4.) Google Places: Google Places is important for marketers because it helps get your business found when searches are conducted on Google. When creating your account, all you need to do is submit your information and verify your listing. It will take some time for the listing to appear on Google, but keep in mind that it is important for you to add images, videos and links to further engage your audience.

5.) Google AdWords: Google AdWords allows marketers to create ads that appear on Google. When a consumer makes a search on Google using one of your keywords, your ad may appear next to the search results. This allows you to advertise to an audience that’s already interested in your business. The best part is that you get to set your budget and control your spending. The marketer can choose to set a daily budget or a maximum cost for each click their ad generates. When creating your ad, be sure to remember to create a call to action with an offer such as a whitepaper or eBook while consistently monitoring your performance. Also, keep in mind that a higher percentage of searchers click on organic search results versus paid results.

There are a few other tools that Google has in place to help boost your Inbound Marketing, but these 5 tools will certainly help get your business found more frequently and help with monitoring your online presence.
