Prohibited Mail – From Lottery Tickets to Pornography [Infographic]

Have you ever hesitated at the post box, thinking: “If I send this I could get arrested.”

Unless you were sending illegal substances, threatening letters or organising crime, then the answer is most probably not.

However, there are some items that are prohibited from being posted, both in the UK and abroad, and they might not be just what you expect.

Ever considered sending a plant to a fellow gardening enthusiast? Forget it, live plants come under prohibited post in the UK.

How about sending that age old 16th birthday gift of a lottery ticket? If your recipient lives in the Singapore region, think again.

Whilst sending pornography and err… used beehives… might seem like a fun idea at the time, it may seem less funny when you’re singing ‘Like a Virgin’ Bridget Jones style in a Thai jail, with no Mr Darcy to save the day. Be warned, the USA is not the place for dead badgers or kinder eggs.
