Paris Couture Fashion Week launched its haute couture for autumn/winter 2013, featuring the famous Italian designer, Donatella Versace’s collection. Ramp models Versace’s Atelier collection at Ritz in Paris. Donatella chose the place in memory of her brother who she last seen at that place before he died. Gianni Versace was murdered in 1997 in Miami. Guardian’s fashion editor Jess Cartner-Morley said that Versace’s collection was ‘simply attention seeker.’ No doubt many Hollywood stars were present during the fashion show. Some of the stars present in the front row were MIA, Pierce Brosnan and Milla Jovovich.
Haute Couture week kicked off in Paris, and what’s better way to start the celebration than to welcome to the catwalk the works of the world renowned designer Donatella Versace. The City of Lights was invaded by haute couture designs of Versace. Most of the dresses catwalked during that event were floor length silk cloth. If last year, models walked the ramp with their hair in a ponytail, this year they were allowed to wear their hair loose. The dresses were matched with a uniform gladiator shoes. This year’s designs were mostly chic and fabulous evening gowns in pastel colours.
Donatella Versace has marked the world’s fashion industry with her fabulous creations which deserve a good price too. Her chiffon dresses bring out the stunning long legs of the models. Colors included in her collection were bold purple, lime green and baby blue.
Most long dresses feature a corseted bodice. Women who will wear this kind of collection can flaunt their body, because this kind of design covers some imperfections in your middle torso. Most of the long gowns with corset were made in chiffon. This kind of fabric caused some of the models to almost trip up during the show. It needs a lot of practice to walk in a slippery long gown to avoid some accidents during the show.
Her designs also featured colourful body hugging mini dresses in print. Her mini dresses collection were embellished and patterned. Most of the colours used were pastel, not so much for the dark colours. Her pool of designs this year has more on the lighter shade. The dresses also showed the models long legs. The model’s gladiator-style heels looked sexy in their chic body con mini dresses.
Last Sunday, Donatella Versace only proved to everyone that only the richest women in the world can afford her collection. Dresses highlighted during the fashion show cost from $19,000 to $125,000. Seemed to be very expensive for a piece of colourful cloth.
Many were anticipating for this autumn/ winter collection by Versace. Seen in the front row were, the dashing Jessica Alba, Christina Hendricks and Milla Jovovich, were among the first to see the classic, fitted silhouettes of Versace couture. Just pure evidence that many stars love the Italian designer’s work. Well, only the best deserves the high priced collection.
Donatella Versace came into view in the fashion show with her signature style black tight fitting mini dress, matched with her black high heeled pumps.
