DISH Network, a nationally recognized satellite services provider, has recently been sued by the FTC for constantly calling consumers that have asked to be placed in their Do Not Call list. If you don’t want this to happen with your company, then make sure that you only deal with a professional telemarketing company for your cold calling campaigns.

Don’t be fooled; if you think that by outsourcing your telemarketing campaign to a third party you will be spared from any fines that that telemarketing campaign might accrue, then you’re very wrong. It’s your company’s name and services that they will be selling to your sales leads, so if they are reported for doing anything illegal, you will be included in that suit. To avoid being defamed by their illegal practices, conduct business only with professional telemarketing service providers. Here are a few questions you need to ask when outsourcing your telemarketing campaigns:

Do you do robocalls?

If your prospective telemarketing company state that they do, then turn around at once and head straight to the door, or immediately hang up the phone. One important thing you must know about telemarketing is that telemarketing robocalls are illegal, although it’s a common practice because it greatly decreases the need for actual human telemarketers and reduces operational costs. Never hire a telemarketing company who offers robocalls even if they offer the cheapest telemarketing campaign you can find.

Do you regularly update your Do Not Call lists?

Do Not Call lists are an important compliance of professional telemarketing companies. Different countries have their own do not call lists, which is why you must ask the company you’re about to hire if they have their own. If they say they don’t, then you’ll most likely have annoyed sales leads in the future, which could eventually bring you to where DISH Network finds itself now. There are telemarketing companies who say that they do have their own DNC list, but if this is not constantly updated, then it will still lead to annoyed sales leads.

Do you use spoofing tactics?

Spoofing is the practice of altering the caller ID that appears on the phone of your sales leads when a robo-caller makes a call. This is, of course, completely illegal.

What is the intro spiel used by your telemarketers?

It is important that the professional telemarketers you hire are trained to say their name and the company they represent within the first few seconds that the sales leads answer their call. Failure to do so is punishable by law. Just to be sure, you may want to give a trial business list to your prospective telemarketer filled with only dummy numbers. If they consistently fail to follow the best practices in telemarketing, then simply look for another service provider. Another way to make sure is to help create the telemarketing script to ensure that the first few seconds are dedicated to proper introduction.

All of the illegal telemarketing practices stated above are worth fines no lesser than $500, with some fines even reaching $30 million. To avoid this, be very careful with who you choose to represent your company during telemarketing campaigns.

Generally, marketers earn a bad reputation for being stubborn, annoying and self-interested. Sadly, the unpleasant action of a few has formed a bad image for the majority.

Here are some of the most irritating things anybody could carry out throughout their lead generation marketing campaigns, in order that you will avoid making these awful mistakes.

1.Never beg for time. You already placed yourself in unfavorable position by saying to your business sales leads, “I was wondering if you can spare me some time?” In fact, no one really cares what you wonder about. Entrepreneurs and decision makers are busy making money for their businesses. They’re probably barraged by numerous telephone calls in a day—the last thing they need is you begging for their time. Just be straightforward and never apologize. Always make it sure that you’re worth their time in listening to you.

2.Don’t plunge head-on with a hard-selling pitch. It’s only fair that you get to know someone (especially your b2b sales leads and prospects) prior to attempting to sell them something. Building relationships and connections is essential to sales.

3.Avoid making promises you just can’t keep. It’s easy for most marketers to fall into this temptation. Promising sales leads and prospects the moon and the stars just to get them invest in your products. Usually, these kinds of promises are difficult to keep. It is always advisable to adhere to the “under-promise-yet-over-deliver” type of approach. Better safe than sorry.

4.Hit your competition. Don’t even think that stressing on your competitor’s flaws and breakdowns would make you seem like the more fitting option, but on the contrary, it merely makes you appear threatened and insecure. Just focus on your own strengths and never mind about your competitors.

5.Stop monopolizing the conversation. The ideal conversation with your customers should be back and forth or give and take, and not only one person doing all the talking. That said, train yourself to listen quietly and listen when one person is talking—and make it look sincere; you don’t want to give your prospects the impression that you’re simply waiting for your turn to speak again.

6.Never pick a fight—very unprofessional. Polarization has its advantages—it can mean you’re brave enough to stand up for a cause or something and having that element that’s open for debate. But directly insulting others and trying to pick fights is a very effective strategy for disgusting people off of your message. And nobody wants to deal with this kind of immaturity.

7.Do not overload and overwhelm your leads. This happens when firms over generate their marketing stuff and they try sending them out almost too close simultaneously. Regular updates, everyday emails, and those direct mails sent on a weekly basis could naturally get inundating to others that it could compel them to ultimately remove your messages despite how valuable it can be. Never spam your leads and prospective customers with all of your marketing stuff. When they are ready, they’ll ask you for it.

A great pastor/writer I know once told this story:

A guy with a large black Bible clutched under his arm rode the bus I was on. At once, I noticed that peculiar glazed look on his eye and the friendly smile on his face—and I knew it wouldn’t be too long before he’d make his first move. In my next breath, bingo, he cornered his first victim—a college girl beside him—with the question asked in a typical preacher’s modulated voice, “Friend, are you saved?” When the woman turned away, undeterred, the zealous evangelist turned next to the fiftyish man in front of the woman and inquired, “Do you know Jesus Christ?” This man signaled the driver to stop and got off immediately. I shivered when I realized I was the only passenger in the bus left to talk to. We smiled at each other and I wondered what his opening line would be. “Friend, if you die right now,” he asked with utter seriousness, “do you know where you would go?

They conversed for a while but the writer eventually regretted allowing the conversation to happen. He then stepped off the bus. As he watched the vehicle roar away, the evangelist was now talking to the driver. He then told his readers: “I admire guys like him. Their zeal, their sincerity, their courage to talk to total strangers. But it’s the same type of admiration that one has for killer sharks. As long as you see them from a distance, or on TV, that’s fine—you admire their strength, their speed, their raw power. But my admiration never makes me want to swim with them in the same pool.”

The same can be said for telemarketers who completely disregard their sales leads during a call. When using telemarketers for your b2b lead generation campaigns, did you hire dolphins or sharks to perform your b2b telemarketing campaigns? Who are the telemarketing sharks? These telemarketers start their sales pitch right at the beginning of the call and keep talking, without even asking if the prospective lead has the time to listen to (or even care about) his offer. The calls made by these sales representatives are usually monologues, and they often get into arguments with their prospects because they keep forcing their offer on to the business lead. There isn’t a prospect whoever wants to hear a telesales representative shove a telemarketing script down their throat, and that’s all that telemarketing sharks do. 20 years ago, this aggressive style of marketing would have worked. But now that business people have more options through the internet, aggressive marketing is generally frowned upon.

If you want to make your b2b telemarketing campaign successful, hire telemarketing dolphins to perform your cold calling to increase your chances of converting your prospective sales leads. The professional b2b telemarketers promote having conversations with the business leads they are calling. The prospects are free to ask questions which helps improve the telemarketing script of the telemarketer. Because it’s a dialogue, the b2b telemarketer also gets a lot of supplemental information about the b2b leads.

Have you listened to your cold calling campaigns lately? So, are you employing telemarketing sharks or dolphins?

You can’t imagine how many times people describe telemarketing as the worst thing that could ever happen in marketing. But that’s far from the truth. To be honest, telemarketing does work for business; the only issue is how to make them work properly. Whether a telemarketing campaign succeeds or not depends entirely on whether the telemarketers can deliver a superb service to the customers. And this is exactly what telemarketing is being refitted to do. It’s a necessity, considering the changing needs of this present generation.

These days, consumers are constantly bothered by advertisements and marketing campaigns even during their younger days. This has resulted in them becoming smart enough to recognize frauds and the original. They’d want to have only the best value in the product or service sold to them. They’re not going to buy what you offer solely because of all the bells and whistles that come along with your advertising. And this is where professional telemarketers can particularly shine. A well-placed professional telemarketing call has a pre-defined goal and is structured to ensure maximum response from the prospects they speak to on the phone. That is the secret of the successful ones in business today.

“Blood-suckers, frauds, con artist…” these are just some of the terms used by people to describe telemarketers. It’s a sad fact of life. Telemarketing has often been accused as an intrusive and bothersome form of marketing. It doesn’t really come as a surprise, considering the increasing unpopularity of this medium in the public. You could also tell from the number of people who are signing up at in the Do Not Call registry. That’s how much irresponsible telemarketers have ruined their daily living. And it’s also a reflection at the dissatisfaction that these people get from the terrible service that telemarketing delivered them. You could really see it in their faces once you mention the word “telemarketing” to them.

One of the main reasons why telemarketing has really gone to the dumps is because of the increased focus on numbers. So focused are telemarketers on this that they forget about proper lead generation and appointment setting services for their customers. They lose more from this set-up, since B2B telemarketing relies heavily on quality. It doesn’t matter how many B2B leads they generate, if the quality id bad, then the results will always be bad. That’s why there is an increased need to handle these calls with care. Who knows how much more they’ll lose if another call is badly handled. If you want to give telemarketing a make over, then you’ll have to change things at the core.

It’s also just a good thing that the government has stepped up their efforts to decrease the cases of unscrupulous telemarketers reaching into private homes, and even mobile phone numbers. They have shut down offending firms, passed down legislation controlling the number of calls, and even helped private individuals file cases against other companies. Telemarketing services, seeing that there is nothing to lose over the changes, have also embraced these new laws and have even participated in cleaning up their own ranks. They have stepped up their quality control systems and hire only competent telemarketers to take care of the needs of their clients. In this way, complaints can be reduced to a minimum or eradicated.

As long as these changes are properly implemented, then there is hope of professional telemarketing to make a comeback. After all, it did deliver excellent service before. It just had to redeliver that level of service again.

Let’s face it. Information technology has changed the way we do business. More and more firms are realizing the importance of having computers or any IT equipment to support their operations. This is especially true when it comes to market information. How can someone analyze the latest trends and tastes of their customers if they do not have enough market data? Data loss during accidents or disasters can damage a company, which is why it makes sense to invest in data backup sales leads. If you are going to look for a company that can create data backup for your operations, then you will need to get a lot of data storage sales leads. And how can you best get them? Through the help of technology lead generation firms. They are the best source of qualified leads that your company can use in your business.

The important thing to take note of here is the fact that information is king. Any self-respecting company would agree that by keeping close tabs on the information that they obtain, they will be able to better improve their services. Trends, predictions, and assessment of sales all depend on the availability of the information. But what will happen if, suddenly, this important business information disappears? This is a scenario that companies wishes to avoid by employing the services of data backup firms. Now, to find these firms, it would be a good idea to get the services of a disaster recovery firm to make sure that you do not lose what is important to you. This means you will need to get a lot of technology leads. How else are you supposed find such a firm than through the use of disaster recovery sales leads? It is important.

The key here is in outsourcing the job to the right lead generation firm. Of course, there will be people who will complain that this will ruin business. Still, there are other entrepreneurs who see a lead generation service provider to be a very effective means to find a data storage partner. Thanks to improvements in the field of telemarketing, many firms are now able to find such a facility with higher chances of success. Such data storage firms are able to withstand any stress related to information technology. They have the most advanced data centers, the most skilled personnel, and are located in places that can protect business data. And with their redundancy systems well in place, your company can be assured that business will remain as usual. This is a business investment you should consider.

All that remains is for you to find the right lead generation service provider that can deliver sufficient qualified leads for your company to use. There are so many of them around the world. Of course, there are only a few of them that can actually live up to the pressure. You will need to exert a little effort to find the right one, but it is worth it. The rewards and security in return more than makes up for it.

Outsourcing, this is a word that has never failed to elicit a lot of debate. Well, while the arguments continue to rage on, there are firms who believe in the usefulness of this tactic. This is a good way to generate the necessary sales leads that companies really need. B2B sales leads are an important asset for any company, and you should do your best to get the best sales leads possible. Of course, there is a level of risk involved. Any business industry expert would agree with the fact outsourcing your lead generation needs would be one of the most delicate investments that you can ever take. This calls for the careful selection of your sales lead generation provider, as well as an informed choice on your part. This may look like extra work for you, but the rewards in return will more than make up for the initial expense.

One main criticism against outsourcing lies in the level of service provided by the outsourced lead generator. This is especially true in the field of telemarketing services. Due to the rising popularity of outsourcing, there are a lot of companies now that are cropping up all over the world. While this might be seen as good news for the unsuspecting, this may actually be abused by scammers who are out to exploit the industry. Aside from this, there are new firms that are really new to this form of service. In other words, they are complete amateurs in this type of work. If you have the bad luck of working with one, then be prepared to get a multitude of failures. You need put some extra effort o that you can choose only the ones that can actually deliver what they promise. Now this is something that you will need to consider.

Another risk that you will have to be concerned about is with regards to fraud. Yes, this is one threat that is foremost in the minds of every businessman. Perhaps you have heard about it, of the many horror stories of companies who have been duped. They think that they have made a profitable investment, but after paying the fee to the telemarketers, which is usually astronomical in price, they are then dumped with files of poor data. Worst case is that they get nothing at all. This is a nightmare that would certainly shake the core of every businessman who hears it. That is why it pays to be careful. There are so many things that you can actually do to ensure that you get to choose only the right business partner. You may scoff at the idea of being wary, but if it is for the sake of protecting your investments, then be on guard.

Of course, it does not mean that you should not outsource to telemarketing services. There are a lot of advantages that you can gain by investing with the right firm. The quality of the sales leads, the efficiency in which you get them, as well as the relatively lower cost in generating them, all give you more reason to use this.

There are various definitions for demand generation, and it is often used interchangeably with either inbound marketing or the more popular lead generation. But demand generation is more than either of these two. Though it does include large amounts of marketing, its scope comprises a much larger process.

Demand generation is not broken up into campaigns, but does include strategies and systematic planning. It essentially comprises the whole sales process, even the part where the sales are actually converted into profits. As the name suggests, it focuses on creating demand—the propensity of the sales or business lead to purchase your products or services. While lead generation can be achieved through sheer dumb luck (a low budget video unexpectedly gaining virality status), demand generation requires a systematic, progressive and continuous process to create a steady demand for your product or service. There is no end to demand generation, as long as your business exists, you will need to create and foster a demand for your products and services to remain profitable. If you fail to create a demand for your merchandise in the first few years of your business, then there is little chance that you will ever achieve ROI.

Demand generation includes everything from lead generation to lead management. The entire sales process is not simply about finding leads, setting appointments with them and then converting them into profit. It should have a more long term goal of creating a steady flow of leads. Demand generation improves the (1)find—>(2)attract—>(3)meet—>(4)convert process and integrates the lead management segment into the mix. In fact, demand generation places a significant emphasis on lead management. Lead generation without lead management is merely a single transaction and leaves out a lot of potential business opportunities unexplored. With lead management, businesses are not only able to capture more leads but also identify which leads are already sales ready so that sales people can convert them right away. Content marketing is also a large part of demand generation. Without quality, knowledgeable and valuable content, sales leads and business leads will not see your products and services as useful for their own business.

The processes under lead management are found in the later part of the demand generation process. After the sales and business leads have been found, they need to be qualified. The lead scoring system plays an important part in this stage. Once the sales or business leads have been scored, they are finally sent to a salesperson to be closed. Demand generation is a complete and holistic integration of all these processes. In the previous illustration, if some leads are not able to immediately reach the last segment (convert), they undergo lead management where they are eventually returned to the attract—>meet—>convert segment. Similarly, leads who are successfully converted undergo the same process. This is what makes established businesses even more profitable. There are various software available to facilitate demand generation, but the in general, demand generation undergoes the same process.

Dan Schawbel’s Sharktank Roundtable interview series provides great tips for entrepreneurs and businessmen from the eight hosts of the hit show. From that latest interview, here are 3 helpful tips to find investors according to Mark Cuban, a serial entrepreneur and a “Shark” in ABC’s popular show. Starting entrepreneurship early in his life, Cuban’s first venture was Broadcast.com which he eventually sold to Yahoo. His other businesses include: HDNet, 2929 Entertainment, IceRocket, ownership of the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks, and a slew of other investments.

“Do everything you can to not have to seek outside money. Most companies don’t need more money, they need more brains.”

Asking other people for seed capital doesn’t just mean that they will provide initial funding for your business that you will have to pay for in the future, they will also require other collaterals such a certain percentage of stocks, a position in the board of directors, or some other executive position. Before scouring the Silicon Valley for angel investors and venture capitalists to fund your business, try to fund your business by yourself first. This way, if the venture doesn’t turn out to be as profitable as you initially perceived or your target business leads didn’t see it as valuable enough to purchase, then you can stop the operations anytime without needing to worry about paying back any money you owe from someone else. Afterwards, you can easily start again with another idea that may bring in more business leads.

“If you do need money, know exactly how much you need, what you are going to do with it and how it will get you to profitability.”

If you really need outside financing, then you have to prepare a complete report of where you will be spending the seed capital that your investor will lend you. No one would lend you anything if you don’t have any clear plans on where to spend them and how you will get the money back. Your report should include: how much you plan to spend on product R&D, your projected expenses for lead generation campaigns and marketing, the distribution expenses, employee salaries and office rent. There might be other things you need to consider as well, such as if you need to outsource certain operations to a BPO company or a call center. The point is that you have to make it as complete and accurate as possible so that you won’t run out of money prematurely or borrow much more than you can afford to repay.

“Be ready to work your ass off. Raising money is not a destination, it’s a starting point. The minute you take money, you no longer are your own boss. You work for the people giving you money. Be prepared to work harder than you did before. Raising money doesn’t make things easier; it creates more pressure for success.”

Having an investor on board can be both a blessing and a burden. On one hand you can take more risks because you have someone backing your efforts, on the other, you have to choose the risks you take wisely because the same person backing you up is expecting a lot from you. You will have to work extra hard to make sure that you always have a steady flow of sales leads coming in.

There is little margin for error and failure when investors are involved so you have to think very carefully before you find one for your business.

Airtime, the newest brainchild of Shawn Fanning and Sean Parker, was successfully launched on June 5, 2012. This is one social media channel that reporters and netizens have been waiting for.

For those who haven’t been following social media news and don’t know what airtime is, it’s a “social video network that allows users to share live experiences through content, and expand beyond their social graph to discover new people through similar interests in an environment that is collaborative, fun and safe.”

The user interface is divided into two screens, the left half is where you can yourself (so that you can check if you still look presentable every once in a while) and the right half is where you can see the other user. The users you meet can be friends of friends, people in your locale, or people who share the same interests.

While most social media sites boast about exclusivity among friends and family, Sean and Shawn’s Airtime promotes connectivity between two completely unconnected individuals. The new social video network is meant to “restore serendipity to the Internet”—according to Parker himself.

But what could this Facebook-powered social video network tool do for businesses? Because meeting people is a matter of chance, using Airtime for specific business appointments is not advised; unless Airtime adds a feature that lets you directly call a contact a la Skype in the future. The site sounds promising, however, for cold video calling. Though the site doesn’t allow for direct calling, you can use your interests to narrow down the multitude of potential users you can connect with. This is a great networking tool for businesses that want to network with companies in the same locality but don’t have the funds to set-up a trade show or seminar. Though there are certain factors that measure your compatibility (such as interest, connections), the randomness of the meeting process will surely let you meet someone worthwhile to connect with. If you do meet a promising business or sales lead, you can easily add him or her to your business connections on Facebook through the ADD button. You can even show them a presentation using YouTube.

For business to business companies who are actively seeking to network, yet are tired of hearing the usual tirade of scripted calls, this tool will be a refreshing change. Business lead generation companies will be required to have skilled agents stationed to receive video calls, however. These agents should be able to quickly think on their feet, or else they’ll be NEXT’ed and lose the rare chance of a business opportunity.

To sum it up, Airtime can be a great tool for businesses, especially for lead generation, because:

1. It allows you to meet the decision maker in person
2. The people you meet using definitive interests like “business networking” or “b2b networking” are most likely to be warm leads already.
3. The cold calling experience will be better for the person receiving the pitch because they wouldn’t have to deal with a “John Smith” who has a suspiciously heavy Indian accent.
4. Scripted sales pitches would be useless unless they are learned by heart, which means they are then delivered in a much more convincing and conversational way; just as they were originally planned to be.

The basic design of Airtime is to help people meet with other people whom they are not already associated with, so whether you use the site for business networking or simply to meet people, it’s all up to you.

In business, especially where telemarketing tasks are involved, confidence can break barriers. It is true. Who would want to talk to someone who is not sure of themselves, especially on the phone? Remember, telephone communication is the main connection between you and prospects. Only your voice can tell whether you know what you are talking about. Being confident is not just about sounding one, it is being one.

Unfortunately, that is one trait that has to be cultivated. This is not something all people are born with. In this case, you will need to constant training to project yourself as a confident person. Not only will your prospects like you for this, it will also increase your productivity.

Now, what should you do to solve this? Jacquelyn Smith in her article in Forbes.com wrote down ten ways to do this:

1. Stay focused on you – this is the most important step. You need to be focused in yourself before you can start anything. Believe that you can do it.

2. Know your strengths – by knowing what you can do, you can figure out how to make these strengths translate into what you do. If you are more of the conversational type, you can use it to engage your prospects, building rapport, and worry about selling later.

3. See your weaknesses – and improve on them. Eradicating it may be a tall order, but if you can minimize them, then that is a good start. Just do not be focused solely on them. The point here is to boost your confidence.

4. Believe in what you can do – keeping a positive mindset can be a great deal of help. It may be hard to believe, but this can actually help you stay focused better in your job.

5. Count your wins – if you know what are the good things you have done, then you will know that you are doing well. These little successes of yours can help give you a boost in confidence. It will encourage you to continue with your work, as well as motivate you to do better.

6. Be ready for shake ups – it is possible that no matter what you do, you will still get negative comments. Do not linger too much over this. Give yourself time to compose yourself before you proceed to the next call.

7. Hear goodness from others – if you feel like you are still inadequate, you can always ask from good friends, colleagues, and, yes, even your boss about your performance. Who knows, they might be able to see a lot more good in you than what you previously thought.

8. Look for a challenge – give yourself a challenge, something that you think will do good for you. It does not have to be that big or complex. It may be just something that can boost your self-esteem once you succeed.

9. Be the center of optimism – by focusing on how you can do better, or being positive despite setbacks, it can create a positive effect on others as well.

10. Take things with grace – how you react to others’ actions will tell how you are as a person. Using a more positive response to things will not just make you a better person, it will also make you a likable companion.

These are just some of the things that you might want to use to improve yourselves as telemarketers.

A flower that is not watered, withers. A soil that is not cultivated becomes barren. A man who is not fed dies. These are different forms of neglect. Each has a dissimilar cause and leads to a diverse end. Though different, all share the same one thing; they are neglected.

In lead generation, be it business-to-customer (B2C) or business-to-business (B2B), neglect is a grave sin. When done, it results to lost opportunities, which is tantamount to lost profits. Whether it is intentional or not, neglect must not be done by the sales people in order to improve a firm’s lead generation.

Here are some of the different types that embody neglect.

Existing prospects are ignored. Generally, business organizations assume that once a sales lead is already in the pipeline, sales is guaranteed. This seems the reason why firms do not nurture existing prospects. They ignore them with the thought that such leads are going to buy sooner than later. However, they did not know that there was a catch: it is wrong.

Ignoring sales leads can be any company’s ticket to fiasco. Customers need to be informed, educated and updated. They want to know if a firm values them. When they don’t see the efforts, they will jump off the ship and look for another business entity which knows their worth.

Instead of doing such gross practice, companies ought to keep in touch with the existing accounts and constantly build rapport with them.

Loading the sales pipeline. The ever changing levels of sales pipeline is due to a company habit of not filling their sales pipeline. While some sales leads go and existing customers leave, the big hole left must be loaded with new prospects.

Every firm should not stop prospecting. Just imagine when lead generation programs for a group of leads are through and a company has nothing to follow-up.

Prospects are not nurtured. Frequently, sales team will not be able to keep the connection alive with the prospects who are not yet sales ready. They are more focused to those leads that are easy to close sales. The thing is majority of the new sales prospects are still deciding whether to buy or not and most of them convert into a sales-ready status if and only if they are nurtured. Therefore, sales team must properly distribute its workforce to take care every sales prospect.

Development is out of the picture. Doing business does not usually mean to stick with what’s traditional and what’s common. Some business organizations are satisfied with doing things repeatedly, without even exploring avenues for growth and development.

To be competitive in a business world, every firm ought not to stop developing and polishing its methods and practices. There are plenty of tactics companies can use to nurture leads and current customers. For instance, they can use telemarketing to generate leads and in keeping in touch with current customers.

No matter how and what strategy you use, sales leads should never be neglected. Always bear in mind that “Leads are the Bloodlines of Business”.

Cellphones have Nokia and Sony Ericsson. Sodas are named Different products and services come in diverse trademarks. Cellphones have Nokia and Sony Ericsson. Sodas are named Coca-cola and Pepsi. Computers are hailed Acer and Apple. Yet, it’s just the name. These business giants do not generate billions just to be recognized by their names alone. The services that they have offered drove them at the top. The same is true with any business. The ultimate weapon in lead generation is branding your products and services.Brand encompasses the name of a particular product or service. It is more proper to define as the promise you keep to your customer. It includes what the prospects expect from your products and services, as well as the unique quality which separates a competitor’s goods. An effective brand management leads to positive customer buying behavior. Sales pipelines will flow steadily because prospects trust your company.

A good brand aims to:

clearly deliver messages

validate credibility

build relationship with target prospects

satisfy customers

Understanding the needs and wants of your sales leads is a big step to make. Integrating various methods will be of great help to succeed in branding. When in contact with the prospects, make them feel a welcoming experience. One slight mistake might ruin the image of the company, which, in turn, destroys branding.

Who would remember a firm that doesn’t send replies to your inquiry? What person would recall a company that cannot be reached by phone?

The best practice in building brands is lead nurturing. Every connection made leaves a mark on the customer. The use of telemarketing, appointment setting, cold-calling, answering service and a 24/7 customer service support ensures that customers will be entertained.

In business, telemarketing firms are the ones often faced with the most negativity. Among all the different marketing strategies, the most stereotyped as “anything but benevolent” is – without a shadow of a doubt – telemarketing. Cold calling has earned such a notorious reputation that most people find it “scary”. But telemarketing is not only a negative term for the consumers, even the agents themselves are constantly stressed because of the bad image that their profession has earned. Because of this, even respectable professional telemarketers are having a hard time reaching their quotas.

These types of negativities are extremely detrimental for business, so telemarketing firms and small and medium sized businesses (SMBs) who hire telemarketers should actively find and implement ways to keep employee morale up.

How can these types of negativities be avoided?

On the subject of reaching quotas, the biggest factor that decreases an agent’s morale is not so much that they were not able to reach their quota, but rather the embarrassment that often follows. Telemarketing agents are often grouped into teams, and the competition to reach quotas can be fierce. The receiving end of this pressure is of course the agents. Team leaders, managers and business owners can help reduce this stress and pressure by not criticising an agent in front of his peers when he fails to reach his quota. By pointing out both the good and the bad results of the agent and then teaching him about how to improve on those shortcomings will help motivate him to do better, instead of deflating his morale.

Furthermore, SMBs and telemarketing firms should consider if they are asking for realistic quotas from their telemarketing agents. As with any type of business work, when the goals are set too high that they are basically unattainable, the employees lose the drive to make an effort to even deliver a satisfactory job. The management should not set their agents up to fail. Instead, they should establish challenging yet realistic goals that will encourage their agents to excel.

With regard to telemarketing’s reputation, changing the public’s attitude towards it is really a huge task and understandably difficult. However, all big things can be completed by starting with tiny steps. SMBs who employ telemarketing campaigns should educate their agents about the best practices of this marketing strategy. These practices must be strictly implemented, so that telemarketing agents will understand which actions are right and wrong. By doing this, SMBs can help other upstanding telemarketing firms to slowly change the public’s perception of telemarketing.

The bad reputation of telemarketing is the work of unregulated and uninformed telemarketing firms who are desperate to get sales leads using any means necessary. However, this type of mentality should be completely abolished, and telemarketing should be recognized once more as the most efficient direct marketing strategy for all types of lead generation. The task of removing the negativity associated by consumers and redeeming telemarketing falls in the hands of the telemarketers and telemarketing firms themselves.

In Obama’s January 2012 State of the Union Address, he pointed out that companies who outsource their operations and manufacturing services were the leading cause of the high unemployment rate in the States and the bane of the current economy. The largest manufacturer of American goods is China, and the President has announced forming a trade enforcement unit to look into possible unfair trade practices present in the Asian country and hopefully persuade companies to reshore manufacturing jobs into the United States.

The President has reason to remain hopeful indeed. A study by Boston Consulting Group has shown a trend in companies bringing manufacturing operations back into the US from China, possibly creating 3 million jobs for Americans. According to MFGWatch’s 4th quarter 2011 Survey whose respondents come from various manufacturing industries including: Consumer Products (24%), Machinery Tools & Equipment (15%), Textiles (12%), Automotive (10%), Medical (6%), Aerospace (5%), Defense (3%) and Others (25%), 33% of manufacturers have begun researching into possibilities of reshoring manufacturing jobs back into North America, a 7% rise from last quarter’s 26%. This was brought about by indications that economic conditions are improving enough for manufacturers to consider bringing work back into America. Supplier markets are becoming more stable and global suppliers are more available compared to previous quarters.

Though conditions seem to be improving for manufacturers to consider reshoring to North America, there are still factors that keep most of them from doing so. High logistics, shipping and energy costs, high operating costs, and concerns about access to capital all affect the propensity of manufacturers to begin reshoring and hire additional workforce.

How does this affect outsourcing in general? Although there have been recent progress in the reshoring of manufacturing jobs to the US, a bulk of the industries, particularly the Information Technology industry and the customer service sector, will remain largely outsourced. Aside from the fact that substantially lower wages drive most companies to outsource globally, a study by Harvard Business School has shown that company executives are doubting America’s competitiveness against the global job market. The study involved comparing the productivity of America with those of emerging economies.

The major doubts about America’s competence lie in its capacity for productivity. According to the study: “Respondents point to America’s tax code, political system, K-12 education system, macroeconomic policies, legal framework, regulations, infrastructure, and workforce skills as the greatest current or emerging weaknesses in the U.S. business environment.”

Of the various factors why businesses refrain from investing in the US and creating jobs, the high cost of skilled labor was among highest concern, followed by regulations which highlighted the bureaucratic complexity present in the country’s system. Another concern was the high statutory corporate tax rate.

There were a total of 9,750 respondents in the study, a large percentage of which hailed from the Finance and Insurance sector, Manufacturing sector, and Professional, Scientific, and Technical Services sector. The respondents’ ages ranged from 30 years old to 70 and above, many of whom are in senior leadership positions with titles of Chief Executive Officer, President, Chairperson, Founder or Owner.

Lead generation is crucial for companies since the growth depends on how well the campaign is handled. Most business owners get too excited about the results of their lead generation programs that they commit a lot of mistakes. Here are some of the mistakes that you need to watch out for. Read on..

A list of lead generation mistakes

Almost everything is about leads these days, especially for businesses that want to increase their rate of income. Whether it is sales leads or appointment setting leads, lead generation programs need to be managed effectively in order to get the desired results.

There are times however that we fail to see the big picture and commit mistakes in between our lead generation programs. In order to avoid these mistakes, we must first know the common lead generation errors.

Spending on marketing strategies that does not deliver positive rate of income.

When you start your lead generation program, you tend to anticipate the result. Doing so, you may spend the company budget on services that does not generate a positive ROI. There are marketing strategies that only generate awareness for your business but does not generate leads. Company awareness is good however why settle for it when you van have more. There are tactics out there that can promote your business and at the same time produce leads. It is important to know what strategies will work for your business and what will not.

Expecting results without proper delivery of processes

Too much expectation as to what the results from your program may lead to undesirable results. For example, you put up an advertisement poster on the busiest part of the city that would hold a brief introduction about your company still you are not generating that many leads. Why is that? The answer could be because you are advertising on a location where they have no use of your product or services. Regardless if have posters on the busiest parts if they are not your target market, the campaign will surely fail.

Unable to sustain long-term programs

When you plant a tree you cannot just leave it there as the tree would most likely die. This is the same with lead generation programs. The program needs to be managed and maintained. You need to provide the necessary means in order to sustain long-term goals for your company.

If these mistakes are bit scary to be handled, you can outsource to a lead generation company. These companies have studied and understand these mistakes and they know how to handle it. You can be assured that the company will deliver what you asked without you worrying. The only concern on you part is choosing the best and dependable partner to work with.

How To Get The Best B2B Leads

Staying in business can be hard, especially if profits are too slow to come up. Even the most established of companies are constantly faced with this is a challenge. It is a real point of concern, considering that the market is still reeling from the negative effects of the world financial meltdown. The good news is that there is an easy solution for that. It would be to your advantage if you, as an entrepreneur, would invest in good B2B leads. This is an excellent means for you to get better business opportunities. The use of sales leads can guide you towards serving your market better. In addition, qualified leads can provide you with a myriad of information that you can use in your business campaign. In order for you to get such important business assets, you will need the help of a professional lead generation company. They are the experts in the field of lead generation and appointment setting services. This is a good investment.

Now, the problem in qualified leads is that they are somewhat complicated to get. Of course, this is something that bigger companies will have no problems with. The real issue here is that smaller companies do not have such luxuries. It is an accepted fact that small and medium-sized companies may not be able to compete, possibly because they lack the necessary financial and physical assets that the will need to build up their up their own lead generation team. This could perhaps explain the increasing popularity of professional lead generation services to these companies. After all, they are the best when it comes to the needed B2B leads. And since these firms use a modernized telemarketing system, you can be sure that the sales leads you get will not backfire from you. The only factor that you need to address is in choosing the right lead generation firm. It must be one that can solve you unique needs.

Another popular version of lead generation is appointment setting services. This method serves as an offshoot of original lead generation, with a somewhat different approach. That is because it answers a different need. If your company has its own marketing team, then this is not for you. But if you do not, then this is just right up your alley. With the skillful help of professional telemarketers, you will be able to get not just better leads, but also the opportunity to talk to your prospects. You do not have to waste you time chasing after leads. This is the real deal. All you have to do is to concentrate in converting these sales meetings into a successful sale or a close deal. This is just perfect for small firms that just want to get a better chance in cornering their market, at a cost that is quite within their budget. It is worth it.

What remains to be done is for you to work with the right lead generation and appointment setting company. While there are plenty of such agencies to choose from, there are only a few who can actually deliver. You will have to practice a little caution in choosing who to work with.

Let me ask you a question. Why do you think telemarketing is still needed nowadays particularly in this digital age? Is not all the social media stuff going on adequate to keep customers purchasing from you again and again? The answer is—negative.

Have you realized that human communications are still far more receptive as compared to those electronic correspondences such as emails and stuff?

I read somewhere that the most inexpensive way to make sure that the customer will come in (particularly for local businesses) is still that influential human voice at the end of the line asking about the client or customer, caring for the customers’ needs, etc. It can in fact take some time before the business leader or manager could see the real benefits and understand how essential it is making regular calls to their potential and existing clients. There’s a lot of powerful proof from large and reputable business organizations vouching for the fact that telemarketing really still does work and it’s not outdated like what others think.

And yes, it still works very well.

Okay, let’s say a dentist who spends money on pricey dental advertising would find lack of earnings especially in a sluggish economy. Nevertheless, hiring a person, even just for part-time assistance, in order to contact patients reminding them it’s time for a check up would eventually generate more income than the cost of hiring that telemarketer.

Reasons for Outsourcing Telemarketing, or Using an Automated Service:

By making use of automated services or outsourcing telemarketing, not only will you get to save on hiring, training and supervising expenses, but you’ll also get to save on your taxes.

Employing external telemarketing services, mainly automating, becomes far less costly in actual dollars spent per hour, however let’s say that even it becomes totally expensive, due to the stress involved in maintaining the telemarketers on the job, it’s still worth it having someone on the job at all times even minus your presence.

So, there you go–get those calls made, and whoever said that telemarketing is outdated, needs to get out of his cave.

As far business is concerned, being able to expand their operations will depend entirely on the company’s ability to find new business opportunities. After all, businesses will need other businesses in order to improve themselves. This especially true when it comes to the use of B2B sales leads. These assets are very useful for companies belonging to different industries. Whether you belong to janitorial services, medical services, or technical support, the right sales leads can be found. Of course, the issue here is the quality of the B2B leads used. If they are outdated, or simply full of useless data, then your efforts will simply come to waste. This calls for a responsible and reliable means of generating B2B sales leads. If you do not have the people, or the budget, to do that, then you might want to try outsourcing the task.

Now, this is a concept that has never failed to create such a huge debate, with both sides of the issue having strong points. But why does outsourcing, once the magic word needed for success, now leave a bitter taste in the mouths of entrepreneurs? This issue is even more pointed once the need for new B2B sales leads enters the picture. Good sales leads are an important asset for any company, and it pays to get the services of professional sales lead generation firms. These assets can be very hard to obtain, and if you do not have the means to generate them professionally, then you should leave the job to the professionals. As for the arguments against outsourcing, well, the main objections would stem from the fact that a lot of businesses, jobs, as well as money is being moved out of the Us and into foreign ones.

Yes, it may be true that the economy is languishing, considering the world financial crisis, but that does not put the blame entirely on outsourcing. Think about it, the reason why people are losing jobs and companies closing down are due to the large, multinational firms that move their manufacturing operations wholesale to another country. Service companies, where telemarketing and appointment setting services are concerned, are not the main culprit. Besides, as a service, these firms are more concerned about making a company’s operation as smoothly as possible. They are the main source of help for many small or medium companies that need information or assistance at the shortest time possible. As a business investment, this is something that you would want to consider. This is very handy in providing you up to date market information, as well as better business opportunities you can explore.

There are a lot more reasons why you outsourcing to telemarketers are an ideal business investment for you. And there are a lot of companies that you can work with. Of course, whether outsourcing is a benefit for you or not will remain entirely upon you. For the sake of nationalistic pride, then this might be something you can ignore. For the sake of staying in business, then you might want to use this.

Disconnectivity is a prevalent culture in fast-paced internet companies. Employees are quick to assume a robotic, predictably amicable manner when dealing with customers. This attitude is prevalent specifically among call center agents who have to endure numerous irate callers every day.

These arguments make it seem unlikely that companies would ever be capable of providing authentic customer service, but one man’s vision and leadership is going to turn the critic in all of us into believers.

Meet Tony Hsieh, the CEO of Zappos, 2011’s #6th Best Company to Work For. Tony Hsieh’s goal is to create a customer service-centered company with a strong and united company culture. He is most probably the only person who has successfully attained that goal.

Setting aside expensive marketing plans in favor of providing more valued service for the customer may seem counterproductive in the short-term perspective, but Tony is looking much farther than that.

Initially, when you read interviews about how Tony managed his company and come across his strict rules on hiring only “culture fit” employees and how he wants a company built on customer service, you would think: “Now THIS is an idealist.” However, when you look at the larger picture and see beyond the revenues (from practically $0 in 1999 to $1 billion in 2009), you will see satisfied repeat customers providing free and highly-effective word-of-mouth marketing and employees who enjoy their work and are proud to be a part of the company despite a $2000 sign off fee. These are authentic proof that the man’s vision has come true.

Why does the man value customer service so much?

According to Tony, by providing exceptional customer experience to clients, like receiving orders just 8 hours after ordering, or having sales reps who go “above and beyond” for the customer, his company is able to build a lasting relationship with its customers. Unlike other companies who have to spend millions of dollars on advertising just to get their brand name noticed, Zappos enjoys the privilege of having its customers do the marketing for them. The company’s profits rely much on repeat customer sales, accounting for at least 75% of sales on any given day. By providing these customers the best possible customer service they can offer, Zappos is assured that customers will not only keep coming back, but also keep spreading the word about their company.

The road leading to his goal was obviously not easy for Tony, but he wasn’t daunted by obvious setbacks on profits brought about by his unconventional business plan. By remaining passionate and believing in his goal, Tony has not only sold footwear, but he has also sold his brand Zappos to each and every customer.

He has proven that great customer service CAN exist in this fast-paced world, and that a little kindness can go a long way, especially when there is no apparent incentive for doing so. Tony Hsieh is now touted as the greatest advocate of providing the best customer service, with Zappos being the embodiment of the success brought about by that great service.

Before the social media boom, marketers thought social media marketing was just another fad that would soon likely pass, something in the vein of pyramid and networking scams. But when Facebook started attracting attention from the year 2004, more and more social media marketing strategies were developed. Today, this marketing tool has allowed start-ups and established companies to gain attention without having to spend millions of dollars on advertisements.

A Brief History

Before there was social media, netizens in the 1970s and 1980s spent most of their time on social networks like dating sites and online forums. Six Degrees, Livejournal, and Friendster were the earliest form of social medias.

The dot-com bubble of 1995 – 2002 was a critical event that allowed the internet to become a viable marketing tool. It began with search marketing, prompting brands to create websites to establish an online presence. As Google, Yahoo and MSN’s search engines evolved, companies turned to SEO strategies to remain at the top of search results.

When web 2.0 sites – blogs in particular – increased in popularity, marketers began to recognize the potential of content marketing. Inbound marketing, where more value is added for the customer and business is earned, starts replacing age-old “buy, beg or bug” outbound marketing strategies.

In 2003 – 2004, the arrival social media sites like Facebook, LinkedIn and My Space initiates the shift of internet users from multiplayer online games into social networking sites. Eventually, businesses picked up on the positive effects of a social media site presence on e-commerce and started creating their own profiles on the popular networking sites.

In the years that followed, customer’s favorable attitude towards social media marketing slowly changed business marketing preference from the more aggressively-proactive outbound marketing to the more reactive inbound marketing.

Nowadays, over 90% of marketing executives utilize social media as part of their marketing strategies, and successful businesses utilize social media marketing for branding, lead generation, customer retention, research and e-commerce. Not only does social media manage to significantly reduce marketing expenses and the time needed to market products and services, it also increased the effectiveness of marketing and overall customer satisfaction. 83% of customers who post complaints on a brand’s social site like Twitter and get a reply state that they are satisfied. This helped companies retain more of their customers, resulting to increased existing customer transactions.

Capitalizing on free Internet

There are over 2 billion people online at any given time. Around 23% of the total time spent on the internet is spent on browsing or interacting within social media sites. At least 53% of individuals who are active on social media sites such as Facebook are following a brand. With the help of global internet, more and more customers (if not all) are expecting their brands to have an online presence.

This year’s tablets, iPads, and Android-operated phones will only make internet browsing all the more accessible for consumers, and social media marketing will allow companies to reach out to more target markets. As long as the internet exists, social media will remain an important part of marketing strategies.

Lead generation is a vital part of the whole existence of your business. It brings in success to your marketing campaign since it directs committed and informed prospects which must end up in sales of your market solutions.

B2b lead generation is normally one of the principal and the most effective methods in order to make sales. It’s essentially known as business to business lead generation, a system of bringing different firms together in order to perform businesses with one another.

One of the more popular tools of b2b lead generation is telemarketing. B2b leads are generated by professional telemarketers and are employed to act as a guide to their calls. They were able to target firms across the universe by way of cold calling. They call to various business entities and acquire plenty of data and facts as possible, get deals and then produce sales.

Most business leads got little (or not time at all!) left on their hands to speak to you over the phone. The solution is to make the most of emails. Valuable emails could activate on the mind of your prospect that you’re dedicated and competent. Email marketing aids various businesses in order to acquire more buyers. Remarkably, they enhance the image of the company in the market by growing the efficiency and responsibility of its advertising efforts.

Business establishments are harvesting earnings with this business to business practice of lead generation. It gives a sizeable number of people to work with. To be really effective, b2b lead generation should be thoroughly understood. This is actually not a novel idea anymore in marketing and dependable outsourcing firms could facilitate the efficiency of this process. Therefore, contract a lead generation service in a trustworthy and well-qualified call center and gain advantage against your competitors in the business.

Whether you may agree or not, but it’s a fact that a business can’t stay afloat minus appointment setting. You really have to find prospects regularly and then set favorable meetings with them. Take note that the more time you spend with your prospects, the more income you can amass.

When you have a business, it means making the most of money and time—which also means that you’re attracting clients and earnings considerably to your company. Appointment setting with qualified leads is one of the foremost objectives which firms must dedicate on, so that to acquire sales and maximize ROI.

This practice nonetheless, calls for a strategic and well-planned agenda to carry out the goals of the scheduled appointments. This woks efficiently for most business people, as this obviously hikes up income instantly. The key idea is calling on prospective clients and look for appointments. And once business appointments are set, the sales reps could now go on with the final deal.

Telemarketing could make your appointment setting campaign survive for a long time. Professional telemarketers have already acquired many experiences that they could make use of to amass and establish quality appointments. Outsourcing appointment setting to expert telemarketers facilitates any company or organization to maintain enduring business connections.

Telemarketing has become the most efficient means of targeting prospects and to establish honorable businesses. Now, the ball is in your court regarding how to best utilize it for your optimal results. In general, there are several telemarketing agencies on hand which provides appointment setting services. Conversely, you must pick which firm best delivers your needs. Contract only the best professional firms in the market and then works closely with them to guarantee profitable and common long-lasting business associations. Consider outsourcing to reputable call centers and empower your organizations with strategic telemarketing plans.

Companies in the UK are known to closely collaborate their lead generation campaigns to b2b call centres. Over the years, the process of contacting potential clients through the telephone has been steadily gaining popularity. Telephone marketing enables companies in the United Kingdom to acquire a continuous flow of quality and committed leads. Nonetheless, it is not just the only method available in increasing possible client count.

Telemarketing can be used in conjunction with other marketing means. Even if telephone marketing is already a highly effective lead generation method, what better to up those chances than to collaborate one method to another?

For starters, UK companies can employ the use of search engine marketing tactics along with telemarketing to gather leads. Such strategems include Search Engine Optimization or SEO programs, Pay per Click advertising, and analyzing web traffic analytics are some of the methods used to incorporate with the campaign. Using the Internet as a valuable asset to this type of marketing campaign should not be missed out.

The power of the Internet should not be underestimated if the company is in search for a great number of quality leads. The Internet spans the entire globe and millions of people go on-line each and everyday to do various things. Whether it may just be for leisure, for education, for work, or just for plain information gathering, people who has Internet connection will (if possible) go on-line every day.

Now what happens if this power is used in conjunction with telephone marketing? An infinite world of possibilities can be achieved to acquire multiple leads from varying industries. Let us be true to ourselves, a company’s contact database can only carry so much information about their potential clientèle. Each time they add to their list, some (or a lot) of their resources are used in the process. Now in order to economize on their resources, they should not squander it all in one go just to lengthen their contact database.

Now with the power of the Internet, these resources are save to a such a high degree that it allows UK companies to get better results for their b2b lead generation campaign. They can maximize each and every resource at its highest potential to acquire the most qualified of leads. With the Internet, the whole world is at the UK company’s fingertips.

Great as these may seem, sad to say that there are some companies (not only in the UK) that have a very hard time to collabore both methods. There are those that may not have enough time to incorporate the two means or those that do not meet the necessary finances to cover each and every requirement needed for the marketing course. In this case, the solution to their problems is to go for outsourcing.

Getting the aid of a contact centre that does not only gather leads through the telephone but also uses the Internet to search for leads is top choice. In these contact centres lies cold calling experts as well as those that are well-versed on the many marketing tactics using the Internet.

If anything, the one thing that many of you entrepreneurs would agree about is the fact that the IT industry can be a very competitive business. To tell the truth, there are just too many of you offering the same IT service in the information technology market. What makes the problem even more complicated is the fact that more and more IT companies are joining the trend. The rewards are just too much for a businessman like you to pass up. It will be nice to find an alternative solution, right? Now, this calls for quality IT leads. Using technology leads has been proven to be a very powerful tool for you and your business to gain a lead over your competition. It can be used to improve your image in the market you serve. It can also be handy in finding new business opportunities you can follow up. This is a good investment you should try.

In the sales operation of your information technology firm, IT lead generation agencies plays a crucial part in your profits. Such B2B leads are necessary in improving your businesses goal of earning profits from your sales campaign. Take note that lead generation firms are ideal for your sales campaign. They have the skills in delivering the needed sales leads for your sales operation. And they usually succeed. No matter how difficult your market is, or how many your competitors are, a reliable lead generation services provider can still deliver. Nothing beats the IT leads they deliver. What makes all this possible lies in your outsourcing the job to the correct lead generation service provider. This is actually the tricky part. If you do not get the right IT leads provider to generate IT leads. Then it will be a recipe for a business disaster.

The next reason why your information technology firm might want to work with a lead generation agency is speed. It is tough to be in business. This is the reason why you should outsource so that you can get the best leads at the fastest time. Simply put, business is a costly race. The firm that gets B2B leads first earns the most. Lastly, and perhaps importantly, would be cost. Will you invest in a method that will be costly, and with returns that will take a long time to come? I don’t think you would. An IT lead generation agency can usually give you the best sales leads at the least cost. Although they may seem expensive at the start, but the rewards it brings quickly can make up for the initial cost. All this is possible thanks to improvements in modern telemarketing methodologies. The sales leads they produce are simply the best.

Whether in the short run or in the long run, working with a lead generation services provider can actually give your firm amazing results. All that you need to do is to look for the right firm to work with. There are so many of them around the world. Of course, there is only one that will be your match.

Small companies who have little time and resources to manage their own lead generation telemarketers and appointment setters have the option of outsourcing these tasks to a capable and reliable b2b appointment setting company. However, there are companies who tell that they have negative experiences with outsourced services. While there are companies who purposefully try to scam and rob their clients of money, not all outsourced service providers are the same and there are authentic BPO companies who provide quality services. Nonetheless, there are still businesses who say that even hiring a good lead generation or appointment setting company is not at all worth it. There are actually valid reasons for this, and these reasons, if you know what they are, can be easily avoided and you can have the best business to business lead generation marketing campaign or the most successful b2b appointment setting campaign.

What prevents a lead generation or appointment setting campaign from giving you the best results? How can you make sure that your appointment setting campaigns are effective?

1. Quality of product or service.

One of the biggest problems why lead generation companies find it hard to get qualified sales leads and business appointments for their clients is that the product or service they offer is not exactly exceptional. If your product or service is mediocre and does not offer any significant benefits to your particular b2b sales leads, then don’t expect the members of your target market to come clamoring for it. Prove the value of your products and services to your clients and you will be able to generate a demand for your product. For example, before Facebook, there are already various social media platforms available to the general public. However, this did not stop the social media giant from creating a demand for itself. Despite being a relative latecomer, it was able to monopolize a large portion of its target market. The same thing goes for Google.

Prove to your clients that your product or service is indispensable, and you will have no difficulty getting the business leads and b2b appointments that you need.

2. Knowledge of the telemarketer, appointment setter or lead generation expert.

Being knowledgeable about the product, service, and market is important to be able to convince your target b2b sales leads that what you offer is the best solution for their problem. Much like how internet marketers strive to become thought leaders by producing quality, informative, and engaging content, so should your telemarketers be able to prove to your business leads that they understand what the leads are going through. Just hiring an experienced agent or employee and winging it is not enough. You have to provide enough training, especially when your niche is highly technical such as insurance, software, cloud services, or health-related. This means if you hire a telemarketing company, you have to inquire if they have previous experience with your market.

These two are the most common reasons why outsourced lead generation and appointment setting services don’t work for some companies. Once you get past these two, you will benefit from the full potential of having the services of a professional lead generation or appointment setting company.
